Sura 40 - Al-Ghaafir

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
40:1
حم
*H´a, Mim.
*Ha, Meem.
40:2
تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ مِنَ اللَّهِ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ
*Uteremsho wa Kitabu umetoka kwa Mwenyezi Mungu Mwenye nguvu, Mwenye kujua.
*The [gradual] sending down of the Book is from Allah, the All-mighty, the All-knowing,
40:3
غَافِرِ الذَّنْبِ وَقَابِلِ التَّوْبِ شَدِيدِ الْعِقَابِ ذِي الطَّوْلِ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ إِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ
*Anaye samehe dhambi na anaye pokea toba, Mkali wa kuadhibu, Mwenye ukarimu, hakuna mungu ila Yeye; marejeo ni kwake.
*forgiver of sins and acceptor of repentance, severe in retribution, [yet] all-bountiful; there is no god except Him, [and] toward Him is the destination.
40:4
مَا يُجَادِلُ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَلَا يَغْرُرْكَ تَقَلُّبُهُمْ فِي الْبِلَادِ
*Hawazibishi Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu ila walio kufuru; basi kusikughuri wewe kutanga tanga kwao katika nchi.
*No one disputes the signs of Allah except the faithless. So do not be misled by their bustle in the towns.
40:5
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَالْأَحْزَابُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ وَهَمَّتْ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ بِرَسُولِهِمْ لِيَأْخُذُوهُ ۖ وَجَادَلُوا بِالْبَاطِلِ لِيُدْحِضُوا بِهِ الْحَقَّ فَأَخَذْتُهُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عِقَابِ
*Kabla yao walikadhibisha kaumu ya Nuhu na makundi mengine baada yao. Na kila taifa lilikuwa na hamu juu ya Mtume wao wamkamate. Na walibishana kwa upotovu ili kuipindua haki. Kwa hivyo niliwakamata. Basi ilikuwaje adhabu yangu!
*The people of Noah denied before them and the [heathen] factions [who came] after them. Every nation attempted to lay hands on their apostle, and disputed erroneously to refute the truth. Then I seized them; so how was My retribution?!
40:6
وَكَذَٰلِكَ حَقَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ
*Namna hivi limewathibitikia makafiri neno la Mola wako Mlezi ya kwamba wao ni watu wa Motoni.
*That is how the word of your Lord became due concerning the faithless, that they shall be inmates of the Fire.
40:7
الَّذِينَ يَحْمِلُونَ الْعَرْشَ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهُ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَيُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
*Wale wanao beba A´rshi, na wanao izunguka, wanamsabihi na kumhimidi Mola wao Mlezi, na wanamuamini, na wanawaombea msamaha walio amini kwa kusema: Mola wetu Mlezi! Umekienea kila kitu kwa rehema na ujuzi. Basi wasamehe walio tubu na wakaifuata Njia yako, na waepushe na adhabu ya Jahannamu.
*Those who bear the Throne, and those who are around it, celebrate the praise of their Lord and have faith in Him, and they plead for forgiveness for the faithful: ‘Our Lord! You embrace all things in mercy and knowledge. So forgive those who repent and follow Your way and save them from the punishment of hell.
40:8
رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدْتَهُمْ وَمَنْ صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ
*Mola wetu Mlezi! Na waingize katika Bustani za Milele ulizo waahidi. Na uwape haya pia wale walio fanya mema miongoni mwa wazee wao na wake zao na dhuriya zao. Hakika Wewe ni Mwenye nguvu, Mwenye hikima.
*Our Lord! Admit them into the Gardens of Eden, which You have promised them, along with whoever is righteous among their forebears, their spouses and their descendants. Indeed You are the All-mighty, the All-wise.
40:9
وَقِهِمُ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ وَمَنْ تَقِ السَّيِّئَاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُ ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ
*Na waepushe na maovu; kwani umwepushaye maovu siku hiyo, hakika umemrehemu; na huko ndiko kufuzu kukubwa.
*Save them from the ills [of the Day of Retribution]; and whomever You save from the ills that day, You will have had mercy upon him, and that is the great triumph.’
40:10
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يُنَادَوْنَ لَمَقْتُ اللَّهِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ مَقْتِكُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ إِذْ تُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى الْإِيمَانِ فَتَكْفُرُونَ
*Kwa hakika wale walio kufuru watanadiwa: Bila ya shaka kukuchukieni Mwenyezi Mungu ni kukubwa kuliko kujichukia nyinyi nafsi zenu, mlipo kuwa mnaitwa kwenye Imani nanyi mkakataa.
*It will be proclaimed to the faithless: ‘Surely, Allah’s outrage [towards you] is greater than your outrage towards yourselves, as you were invited to faith, but you disbelieved.’
40:11
قَالُوا رَبَّنَا أَمَتَّنَا اثْنَتَيْنِ وَأَحْيَيْتَنَا اثْنَتَيْنِ فَاعْتَرَفْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا فَهَلْ إِلَىٰ خُرُوجٍ مِنْ سَبِيلٍ
*Watasema: Mola wetu Mlezi! Umetufisha mara mbili, na umetuhuisha mara mbili! Basi tunakiri madhambi yetu. Basi je, ipo njia ya kutoka?
*They will say, ‘Our Lord! Twice did You make us die, and twice did You give us life. We admit our sins. Is there any way out [from this plight]?’
40:12
ذَٰلِكُمْ بِأَنَّهُ إِذَا دُعِيَ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ كَفَرْتُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ يُشْرَكْ بِهِ تُؤْمِنُوا ۚ فَالْحُكْمُ لِلَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْكَبِيرِ
*Hayo ni hivyo kwa sababu mlikuwa akiombwa Mwenyezi Mungu peke yake mnakataa. Na akishirikishwa mnaamini. Basi hukumu ni ya Mwenyezi Mungu Mtukufu Mkuu.
*[They will be told,] ‘This [plight of yours] is because, when Allah was invoked alone, you would disbelieve, but if partners were ascribed to Him you would believe. So the judgment belongs to Allah, the All-exalted, the All-great.’
40:13
هُوَ الَّذِي يُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ وَيُنَزِّلُ لَكُمْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ رِزْقًا ۚ وَمَا يَتَذَكَّرُ إِلَّا مَنْ يُنِيبُ
*Yeye ndiye anaye kuonyesheni Ishara zake, na anakuteremshieni kutoka mbinguni riziki. Na hapana anaye kumbuka ila anaye rejea.
*It is He who shows you His signs and sends down provision for you from the sky. Yet no one takes admonition except those who return penitently [to Allah].
40:14
فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
*Basi mwombeni Mwenyezi Mungu mkimsafia Dini Yeye tu, na wangachukia makafiri.
*So supplicate Allah, putting exclusive faith in Him, though the faithless should be averse.
40:15
رَفِيعُ الدَّرَجَاتِ ذُو الْعَرْشِ يُلْقِي الرُّوحَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ عَلَىٰ مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ لِيُنْذِرَ يَوْمَ التَّلَاقِ
*Yeye ndiye Mwenye vyeo vya juu, Mwenye A´rshi. Hupeleka Roho kwa amri yake juu ya amtakaye katika waja wake, ili kuonya kwa Siku ya Mkutano.
*Raiser of ranks, Lord of the Throne, He casts the Spirit of His command upon whomever of His servants that He wishes, that he may warn [people] of the Day of Encounter.
40:16
يَوْمَ هُمْ بَارِزُونَ ۖ لَا يَخْفَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ شَيْءٌ ۚ لِمَنِ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ۖ لِلَّهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْقَهَّارِ
*Siku watakayo dhihiri wao. Hapana kitacho fichikana chochote chao kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Ufalme ni wa nani leo? Ni wa Mwenyezi Mungu Mmoja Mtenda nguvu.
*The day when they will emerge [from their graves], nothing about them will be hidden from Allah. ‘To whom does the sovereignty belong today?’ ‘To Allah, the One, the All-paramount!’
40:17
الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ ۚ لَا ظُلْمَ الْيَوْمَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الْحِسَابِ
*Leo kila nafsi italipwa kwa iliyo chuma. Hapana dhulma leo. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ni Mwepesi wa kuhisabu.
*‘Today every soul shall be requited for what it has earned. There will be no injustice today. Indeed Allah is swift at reckoning.’
40:18
وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْآزِفَةِ إِذِ الْقُلُوبُ لَدَى الْحَنَاجِرِ كَاظِمِينَ ۚ مَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ
*Na waonye siku inayo kurubia, wakati nyoyo zitakapo fika kooni, nao wamejaa huzuni. Madhaalimu hawatakuwa na rafiki, wala mwombezi wa kuitikiwa.
*Warn them of the Approaching Day, when the hearts will be at the throats, choking with suppressed agony, [and] the wrongdoers will have no sympathizer, nor any intercessor who might be heard.
40:19
يَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ
*(Mwenyezi Mungu) anajua khiyana ya macho na yanayo ficha vifua.
*He knows the treachery of the eyes, and what the breasts hide.
40:20
وَاللَّهُ يَقْضِي بِالْحَقِّ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ يَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ لَا يَقْضُونَ بِشَيْءٍ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
*Na Mwenyezi Mungu huhukumu kwa haki; lakini hao wanao waomba badala yake hawahukumu chochote. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ndiye Mwenye kusikia Mwenye kuona.
*Allah judges with justice, while those whom they invoke besides Him do not judge by anything. Indeed it is Allah who is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.
40:21
أَوَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا هُمْ أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ وَاقٍ
*Kwani hawatembei katika ardhi wakaona jinsi ulivyo kuwa mwisho wa walio kuwa kabla yao? Hao walikuwa wamewazidi hawa kwa nguvu na athari katika nchi. Na Mwenyezi Mungu aliwatia mkononi kwa sababu ya madhambi yao. Na wala hapakuwa wa kuwalinda na Mwenyezi Mungu.
*Have they not travelled through the land so that they may observe how was the fate of those who were before them? They were greater than them in might and with respect to the effects [they left] in the land. But then Allah seized them for their sins, and they had no defender against Allah [’s punishment].
40:22
ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانَتْ تَأْتِيهِمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَكَفَرُوا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ إِنَّهُ قَوِيٌّ شَدِيدُ الْعِقَابِ
*Hayo ni kwa sababu walikuwa wanawajia Mitume wao kwa hoja zilizo wazi, lakini wakawakataa, ndipo Mwenyezi Mungu akawakamata. Bila ya shaka Yeye ni Mwenye nguvu, Mkali wa kuadhibu.
*That was because their apostles used to bring them manifest proofs, but they defied [them]. So Allah seized them. Indeed He is all-strong, severe in retribution.
40:23
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا وَسُلْطَانٍ مُبِينٍ
*Na kwa yakini tulimtuma Musa pamoja na Ishara zetu na uthibitisho ulio wazi,
*Certainly We sent Moses with Our signs and a manifest authority
40:24
إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَهَامَانَ وَقَارُونَ فَقَالُوا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ
*Kumwendea Firauni na Hamana na Qaruni, wakasema: Huyu ni mchawi, mwongo mkubwa.
*to Pharaoh, Haman and Korah, but they said, ‘A magician and a mendacious liar.’
40:25
فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ بِالْحَقِّ مِنْ عِنْدِنَا قَالُوا اقْتُلُوا أَبْنَاءَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَهُ وَاسْتَحْيُوا نِسَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ
*Basi alipo waletea Haki inayo toka kwetu, walisema: Waueni watoto wanaume wa wale walio muamini na wawacheni hai wanawake wao. Na haviwi vitimbi vya makafiri ila katika upotovu.
*So when he brought them the truth from Us, they said, ‘Kill the sons of the faithful who are with him, and spare their women.’ But the stratagems of the faithless only go awry.
40:26
وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ ذَرُونِي أَقْتُلْ مُوسَىٰ وَلْيَدْعُ رَبَّهُ ۖ إِنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ يُبَدِّلَ دِينَكُمْ أَوْ أَنْ يُظْهِرَ فِي الْأَرْضِ الْفَسَادَ
*Na Firauni akasema: Niachieni nimuuwe Musa, naye amwite Mola wake Mlezi! Mimi nachelea asije kubadilishieni dini yenu, au akatangaza uharibifu katika nchi.
*And Pharaoh said, ‘Let me slay Moses, and let him invoke his Lord. Indeed I fear that he will change your religion, or bring forth corruption in our land.’
40:27
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ مِنْ كُلِّ مُتَكَبِّرٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُ بِيَوْمِ الْحِسَابِ
*Na Musa akasema: Mimi najikinga kwa Mola wangu Mlezi na Mola wenu Mlezi anilinde na kila mwenye jeuri asiye iamini Siku ya Hisabu.
*Moses said, ‘I seek the protection of my Lord and your Lord from every arrogant one who does not believe in the Day of Reckoning.’
40:28
وَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مُؤْمِنٌ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَكْتُمُ إِيمَانَهُ أَتَقْتُلُونَ رَجُلًا أَنْ يَقُولَ رَبِّيَ اللَّهُ وَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ وَإِنْ يَكُ كَاذِبًا فَعَلَيْهِ كَذِبُهُ ۖ وَإِنْ يَكُ صَادِقًا يُصِبْكُمْ بَعْضُ الَّذِي يَعِدُكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ كَذَّابٌ
*Na akasema mtu mmoja Muumini, aliye kuwa mmoja katika watu wa Firauni aliye ficha Imani yake: Mtamuuwa mtu kwa sababu anasema Mola wangu Mlezi ni Mwenyezi Mungu? Na hali naye amekujieni na hoja zilizo wazi? Na akiwa yeye mwongo basi uwongo wake ni juu yake mwenyewe, na akiwa mkweli yatakufikieni baadhi ya hayo anayo kuahidini. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu hamwongoi apindukiaye mipaka, mwongo mkubwa.
*Said a man of faith from Pharaoh’s clan, who concealed his faith, ‘Will you kill a man for saying, ‘‘My Lord is Allah,’’ while he has already brought you manifest proofs from your Lord? Should he be lying, his falsehood will be to his own detriment; but if he is truthful, there shall visit you some of what he promises you. Indeed Allah does not guide someone who is a transgressor and liar.
40:29
يَا قَوْمِ لَكُمُ الْمُلْكُ الْيَوْمَ ظَاهِرِينَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَنْ يَنْصُرُنَا مِنْ بَأْسِ اللَّهِ إِنْ جَاءَنَا ۚ قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ مَا أُرِيكُمْ إِلَّا مَا أَرَىٰ وَمَا أَهْدِيكُمْ إِلَّا سَبِيلَ الرَّشَادِ
*Enyi watu wangu! Leo mna ufalme, mmeshinda katika nchi; basi ni nani atakaye nisaidia kutuokoa na adhabu ya Mwenyezi Mungu kama ikitufikia? Firauni akasema: Sikupeni shauri ila ile niliyo iona, wala sikuongozeni ila kwenye njia ya uwongofu.
*O my people! Today sovereignty belongs to you, and you are dominant in the land. But who will save us from Allah’s punishment should it overtake us?’ Pharaoh said, ‘I just point out to you what I see [to be advisable for you], and I guide you only to the way of rectitude.’
40:30
وَقَالَ الَّذِي آمَنَ يَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ مِثْلَ يَوْمِ الْأَحْزَابِ
*Na akasema yule aliye amini: Enyi watu wangu! Hakika mimi nakukhofieni mfano wa siku za makundi,
*He who had faith said, ‘O my people! Indeed I fear for you [a day] like the day of the [heathen] factions;
40:31
مِثْلَ دَأْبِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَعَادٍ وَثَمُودَ وَالَّذِينَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۚ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْمًا لِلْعِبَادِ
*Mfano wa hali ya watu wa Nuhu na A´di na Thamudi na wale wa baada yao. Na Mwenyezi Mungu hataki kuwadhulumu waja.
*like the case of the people of Noah, of Ad and Thamud, and those who came after them, and Allah does not desire any wrong for [His] servants.
40:32
وَيَا قَوْمِ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ يَوْمَ التَّنَادِ
*Na enyi watu wangu! Hakika mimi nakukhofieni Siku ya mayowe.
*O my people! I fear for you a day of mutual distress calls,
40:33
يَوْمَ تُوَلُّونَ مُدْبِرِينَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنَ اللَّهِ مِنْ عَاصِمٍ ۗ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُ مِنْ هَادٍ
*Siku mtakapo geuka kurudi nyuma. Hamtakuwa na wa kukulindeni kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Na mwenye kuhukumiwa na Mwenyezi Mungu kupotea, basi huyo hana wa kumwongoa.
*a day when you will turn back [to flee], not having anyone to protect you from Allah, and whomever Allah leads astray has no guide.
40:34
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَكُمْ يُوسُفُ مِنْ قَبْلُ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا زِلْتُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِمَّا جَاءَكُمْ بِهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا هَلَكَ قُلْتُمْ لَنْ يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ رَسُولًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ مَنْ هُوَ مُسْرِفٌ مُرْتَابٌ
*Na alikwisha wajieni Yusuf zamani kwa dalili zilizo wazi, lakini nyinyi mliendelea katika shaka kwa yale aliyo kuleteeni; mpaka alipo kufa mkasema: Mwenyezi Mungu hataleta kabisa Mtume baada yake. Kama hivyo Mwenyezi Mungu humwacha kupotea anaye pindukia mipaka katika maasi anaye jitia shaka.
*Certainly Joseph brought you manifest proofs earlier, but you continued to remain in doubt concerning what he had brought you. When he died, you said, ‘‘Allah will never send any apostle after him.’’ That is how Allah leads astray those who are unrestrained and skeptical.
40:35
الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۖ كَبُرَ مَقْتًا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَعِنْدَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ قَلْبِ مُتَكَبِّرٍ جَبَّارٍ
*Hao ambao wanajadiliana katika Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu pasipo ushahidi wowote ulio wafikia, ni chukizo kubwa mbele ya Mwenyezi Mungu na mbele ya walio amini. Hivi ndivyo Mwenyezi Mungu apigavyo muhuri juu ya kila moyo wa jeuri anaye jivuna.
*Those who dispute the signs of Allah without any authority that may have come to them—[that is] greatly outrageous to Allah and to those who have faith. That is how Allah seals the heart of every arrogant tyrant.’
40:36
وَقَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ يَا هَامَانُ ابْنِ لِي صَرْحًا لَعَلِّي أَبْلُغُ الْأَسْبَابَ
*Na Firauni akasema: Ewe Hamana! Nijengee mnara ili nipate kuzifikia njia,
*Pharaoh said, ‘O Haman! Build me a tower so that I may reach the routes
40:37
أَسْبَابَ السَّمَاوَاتِ فَأَطَّلِعَ إِلَىٰ إِلَٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّي لَأَظُنُّهُ كَاذِبًا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ زُيِّنَ لِفِرْعَوْنَ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ وَصُدَّ عَنِ السَّبِيلِ ۚ وَمَا كَيْدُ فِرْعَوْنَ إِلَّا فِي تَبَابٍ
*Njia za mbinguni ili nikamwone Mungu wa Musa. Na kwa hakika mimi bila ya shaka namjua kuwa ni mwongo tu. Na hivi ndivyo Firauni alivyo pambiwa ubaya wa vitendo vyake, na akazuiliwa Njia. Na vitimbi vya Firauni havikuwa ila katika kuangamia tu.
*—the routes of the heavens—and take a look at the God of Moses, and indeed I consider him a liar.’ The evil of his conduct was thus presented as decorous to Pharaoh, and he was kept from the way [of Allah]. Pharaoh’s stratagems only led him into ruin.
40:38
وَقَالَ الَّذِي آمَنَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُونِ أَهْدِكُمْ سَبِيلَ الرَّشَادِ
*Na yule aliye amini alisema: Enyi watu wangu! Nifuateni mimi, nitakuongozeni njia ya uwongozi mwema.
*And he who had faith said, ‘O my people! Follow me; I will guide you to the way of rectitude.
40:39
يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا مَتَاعٌ وَإِنَّ الْآخِرَةَ هِيَ دَارُ الْقَرَارِ
*Enyi watu wangu! Hakika haya maisha ya dunia ni starehe ipitayo tu, na hakika Akhera ndiyo nyumba ya daima.
*O my people! This life of the world is only a [passing] enjoyment, and indeed the Hereafter is the abiding home.
40:40
مَنْ عَمِلَ سَيِّئَةً فَلَا يُجْزَىٰ إِلَّا مِثْلَهَا ۖ وَمَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ يُرْزَقُونَ فِيهَا بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ
*Mwenye kutenda uovu hatalipwa ila sawa na huo uwovu wake, na anaye tenda wema, akiwa mwanamume au mwanamke, naye ni Muumini, basi hao wataingia Peponi, waruzukiwe humo bila ya hisabu.
*Whoever commits a misdeed shall not be requited except with its like, but whoever acts righteously, whether male or female, should he be faithful—such shall enter paradise, and they will be provided therein without any reckoning.
40:41
وَيَا قَوْمِ مَا لِي أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى النَّجَاةِ وَتَدْعُونَنِي إِلَى النَّارِ
*Na enyi watu wangu! Kwa nini mimi nakuiteni kwenye uwokofu, nanyi mnaniita kwenye Moto?
*O my people! [Think,] what makes me invite you to deliverance, while you invite me toward the Fire?
40:42
تَدْعُونَنِي لِأَكْفُرَ بِاللَّهِ وَأُشْرِكَ بِهِ مَا لَيْسَ لِي بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَأَنَا أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى الْعَزِيزِ الْغَفَّارِ
*Mnaniita nimkufuru Mwenyezi Mungu na nimshirikishe na yule ambaye simjui, nami nakuiteni kwa Mwenye nguvu Mwenye kusamehe?
*You invite me to defy Allah and to ascribe to Him partners of which I have no knowledge, while I call you to the All-mighty, the All-forgiver.
40:43
لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّمَا تَدْعُونَنِي إِلَيْهِ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَعْوَةٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَلَا فِي الْآخِرَةِ وَأَنَّ مَرَدَّنَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ هُمْ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ
*Bila ya shaka mnaye niitia kumuabudu hastahiki wito duniani wala Akhera. Na hakika marejeo yetu ni kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Na wanao pindukia mipaka ndio watu wa Motoni!
*Undoubtedly, that to which you invite me has no invitation in the world nor in the Hereafter, and indeed our return will be to Allah, and indeed it is the transgressors who will be inmates of the Fire.
40:44
فَسَتَذْكُرُونَ مَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ ۚ وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِي إِلَى اللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
*Basi mtayakumbuka ninayo kuambieni. Nami namkabidhi Mwenyezi Mungu mambo yangu. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu anawaona waja wake.
*Soon you will remember what I tell you, and I entrust my affair to Allah. Indeed Allah watches His servants.’
40:45
فَوَقَاهُ اللَّهُ سَيِّئَاتِ مَا مَكَرُوا ۖ وَحَاقَ بِآلِ فِرْعَوْنَ سُوءُ الْعَذَابِ
*Basi Mwenyezi Mungu akamlinda na ubaya wa hila walizo zifanya. Na adhabu mbaya itawazunguka watu wa Firauni.
*Then Allah saved him from their evil schemes, while a terrible punishment besieged Pharaoh’s clan:
40:46
النَّارُ يُعْرَضُونَ عَلَيْهَا غُدُوًّا وَعَشِيًّا ۖ وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ أَدْخِلُوا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَشَدَّ الْعَذَابِ
*Wanaonyeshwa Moto asubuhi na jioni. Na itapo fika Saa ya Kiyama patasemwa: Waingizeni watu wa Firauni katika adhabu kali kabisa!
*the Fire, to which they are exposed morning and evening. On the day when the Hour sets in, Pharaoh’s clan will enter the severest punishment.
40:47
وَإِذْ يَتَحَاجُّونَ فِي النَّارِ فَيَقُولُ الضُّعَفَاءُ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا لَكُمْ تَبَعًا فَهَلْ أَنْتُمْ مُغْنُونَ عَنَّا نَصِيبًا مِنَ النَّارِ
*Na watapo hojiana huko Motoni, wanyonge watawaambia walio jitukuza: Hakika sisi tulikuwa wafuasi wenu, basi je, hamtuondolei sehemu ya huu Moto?
*When they argue in the Fire, the oppressed will say to the oppressors, ‘We used to follow you; will you avail us against any portion of the Fire?’
40:48
قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا كُلٌّ فِيهَا إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ حَكَمَ بَيْنَ الْعِبَادِ
*Watasema walio jitukuza: Hakika sote sisi tumo humo humo! Kwani Mwenyezi Mungu kesha hukumu baina ya waja!
*The oppressors will say, ‘We are all in it [together]; Allah has judged between [His] servants.’
40:49
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ فِي النَّارِ لِخَزَنَةِ جَهَنَّمَ ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ يُخَفِّفْ عَنَّا يَوْمًا مِنَ الْعَذَابِ
*Na walio Motoni watawaambia walinzi wa Jahannamu: Mwombeni Mola wenu Mlezi atupunguzie walau siku moja ya adhabu.
*Those who are in the Fire will say to the keepers of hell, ‘Invoke your Lord to lighten for us [at least] a day’s punishment.’
40:50
قَالُوا أَوَلَمْ تَكُ تَأْتِيكُمْ رُسُلُكُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۚ قَالُوا فَادْعُوا ۗ وَمَا دُعَاءُ الْكَافِرِينَ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ
*Nao watasema: Je! Hawakuwa wakikufikieni Mitume wenu kwa hoja zilio wazi? Watasema: Kwani? Watasema: Basi ombeni! Na maombi ya makafiri hayawi ila ni kupotea bure.
*They will say, ‘Had not your apostles brought you manifest proofs?’ They will say, ‘Yes.’ They will say, ‘Then invoke [Him] yourselves.’ But the invocations of the faithless only go awry.
40:51
إِنَّا لَنَنْصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْأَشْهَادُ
*Hakika bila ya shaka Sisi tunawanusuru Mitume wetu na walio amini katika uhai wa duniani na siku watapo simama Mashahidi,
*Indeed We shall help Our apostles and those who have faith in the life of the world and on the day when the witnesses rise up,
40:52
يَوْمَ لَا يَنْفَعُ الظَّالِمِينَ مَعْذِرَتُهُمْ ۖ وَلَهُمُ اللَّعْنَةُ وَلَهُمْ سُوءُ الدَّارِ
*Siku ambayo hautawafaa madhaalimu udhuru wao, nao watapata laana, na watapata makaazi mabaya kabisa.
*the day when the excuses of the wrongdoers will not benefit them, the curse will lie on them, and for them will be the ills of the [ultimate] abode.
40:53
وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الْهُدَىٰ وَأَوْرَثْنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْكِتَابَ
*Na kwa hakika tulimpa Musa uwongofu, na tukawarithisha Wana wa Israili Kitabu,
*Certainly We gave guidance to Moses and We gave the Children of Israel the Book as a legacy,
40:54
هُدًى وَذِكْرَىٰ لِأُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ
*Ambacho ni Uwongofu na Ukumbusho kwa wenye akili.
*as guidance and admonition for those who possess intellect.
40:55
فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ وَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالْإِبْكَارِ
*Basi subiri. Hakika ahadi ya Mwenyezi Mungu ni kweli. Na omba msamaha kwa dhambi zako, na umtakase Mola wako Mlezi kwa kumhimidi jioni na asubuhi.
*So be patient! Allah’s promise is indeed true. Plead [Allah] for forgiveness of your sin, and celebrate the praise of your Lord morning and evening.
40:56
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِنْ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَا هُمْ بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
*Hakika hao wanao bishana katika Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu bila ya uthibitisho wowote uliyo wajia, hawana vifuani mwao ila kutaka ukubwa tu, na wala huo hawaufikilii. Basi jikinge kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Hakika Yeye ni Mwenye kusikia, Mwenye kuona.
*Indeed those who dispute the signs of Allah without any authority that may have come to them—there is [an ambition for] greatness in their breasts, which they will never attain. So seek the protection of Allah; indeed, He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.
40:57
لَخَلْقُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَكْبَرُ مِنْ خَلْقِ النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Bila ya shaka kuumba mbingu na ardhi ni kukubwa zaidi kuliko kuwaumba watu. Lakini watu wengi hawajui.
*The creation of the heavens and the earth is surely more prodigious than the creation of mankind, but most people do not know.
40:58
وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَلَا الْمُسِيءُ ۚ قَلِيلًا مَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ
*Na kipofu na mwenye kuona hawalingani; na walio amini na watendao mema hawalingani na muovu. Ni machache mnayo yakumbuka.
*The blind one and the seer are not equal, neither are the evildoers and those who have faith and do righteous deeds. Little is the admonition that you take!
40:59
إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Hakika Saa (ya Kiyama) itafika, nayo haina shaka. Lakini watu wengi hawaamini.
*Indeed the Hour is bound to come; there is no doubt in it. But most people do not believe.
40:60
وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِي سَيَدْخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ
*Na Mola wenu Mlezi anasema: Niombeni nitakuitikieni. Kwa hakika wale ambao wanajivuna na kuniabudu Mimi wataingia Jahannamu wadhalilike.
*Your Lord has said, ‘Call Me, and I will hear you!’ Indeed those who are disdainful of My worship will enter hell in utter humiliation.
40:61
اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ اللَّيْلَ لِتَسْكُنُوا فِيهِ وَالنَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَذُو فَضْلٍ عَلَى النَّاسِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَشْكُرُونَ
*Mwenyezi Mungu aliye kufanyieni usiku ili mpate kutulia humo, na mchana wa kuonea. Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu bila ya shaka ni Mwenye fadhila juu ya watu, lakini watu wengi hawashukuru.
*It is Allah who made the night for you, that you may rest in it, and the day to provide visibility. Indeed Allah is gracious to mankind, but most people do not give thanks.
40:62
ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ خَالِقُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ فَأَنَّىٰ تُؤْفَكُونَ
*Huyo ndiye Mwenyezi Mungu Mola wenu Mlezi, Muumba wa kila kitu. Hapana mungu ila Yeye; basi mnageuzwa wapi?
*That is Allah, your Lord, the creator of all things, there is no god except Him. Then where do you stray?
40:63
كَذَٰلِكَ يُؤْفَكُ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ يَجْحَدُونَ
*Namna hivi ndivyo walivyo geuzwa walio kuwa wakizikataa Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu.
*Those who were used to impugning the signs of Allah are thus made to go astray.
40:64
اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ قَرَارًا وَالسَّمَاءَ بِنَاءً وَصَوَّرَكُمْ فَأَحْسَنَ صُوَرَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمُ اللَّهُ رَبُّكُمْ ۖ فَتَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Ni Mwenyezi Mungu aliye kufanyieni ardhi kuwa ni pahala pa kukaa, na mbingu kuwa dari. Na akakutieni sura, na akazifanya nzuri sura zenu, na akakuruzukuni vitu vizuri. Huyo ndiye Mwenyezi Mungu Mola wenu Mlezi. Basi ametukuka Mwenyezi Mungu Mola Mlezi wa walimwengu wote.
*It is Allah who made for you the earth an abode and the sky a canopy. He formed you and perfected your forms, and provided you with all the good things. That is Allah, your Lord! Blessed is Allah, Lord of all the worlds!
40:65
هُوَ الْحَيُّ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ ۗ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Yeye ndiye aliye Hai - hapana mungu isipo kuwa Yeye. Basi muabuduni Yeye mkimsafishia Dini Yeye. Sifa njema zote ni za Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola Mlezi wa walimwengu wote.
*He is the Living One, there is no god except Him. So supplicate Him, putting exclusive faith in Him. All praise belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds.
40:66
قُلْ إِنِّي نُهِيتُ أَنْ أَعْبُدَ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ لَمَّا جَاءَنِيَ الْبَيِّنَاتُ مِنْ رَبِّي وَأُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُسْلِمَ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Sema: Mimi nimekatazwa kuwaabudu hao mnao waomba badala ya Mwenyezi Mungu, zilipo nijia hoja zilizo dhaahiri kutokana na Mola wangu Mlezi. Na nimeamrishwa nisilimu kwa Mola wa walimwengu wote.
*Say, ‘I have been forbidden to worship those whom you invoke besides Allah, as manifest proofs have come to me from my Lord, and I have been commanded to submit to the Lord of all the worlds.’
40:67
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ عَلَقَةٍ ثُمَّ يُخْرِجُكُمْ طِفْلًا ثُمَّ لِتَبْلُغُوا أَشُدَّكُمْ ثُمَّ لِتَكُونُوا شُيُوخًا ۚ وَمِنْكُمْ مَنْ يُتَوَفَّىٰ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا أَجَلًا مُسَمًّى وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
*Yeye ndiye aliye kuumbeni kwa udongo, kisha kwa tone la manii, kisha kwa pande la damu, kisha akakutoeni katika hali ya mtoto mchanga, kisha mpate kufikilia utu uzima, kisha mpate kuwa wazee. Na kati yenu wapo wanao kufa kabla, na ili mfikie muda ulio kwisha wekwa, na ili mpate kufahamu.
*It is He who created you from dust, then from a drop of [seminal] fluid, then from a clinging mass, then He brings you forth as infants, then [He nurtures you] so that you may come of age, and then that you may become aged—though there are some of you who die earlier—and complete a specified term, and so that you may exercise your reason.
40:68
هُوَ الَّذِي يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَإِذَا قَضَىٰ أَمْرًا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ
*Yeye ndiye anaye huisha na anaye fisha. Akihukumu jambo liwe, basi huliambia: Kuwa! Likawa.
*It is He who gives life and brings death. When He decides on a matter, He just says to it, ‘Be!’ and it is.
40:69
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ أَنَّىٰ يُصْرَفُونَ
*Je! Huwaoni wale wanao bishana katika Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu? Wanageuziwa wapi?
*Have you not regarded those who dispute the signs of Allah, where they are being led away [from Allah’s way]?
40:70
الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِالْكِتَابِ وَبِمَا أَرْسَلْنَا بِهِ رُسُلَنَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ
*Ambao wamekanusha Kitabu na yale tuliyo watuma Mitume wetu. Basi watakuja jua.
*—Those who deny the Book and what we have sent with Our apostles. Soon they will know
40:71
إِذِ الْأَغْلَالُ فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ وَالسَّلَاسِلُ يُسْحَبُونَ
*Zitakapo kuwa pingu shingoni mwao na minyororo, huku wanabururwa
*when they are dragged [with] iron collars and chains around their necks
40:72
فِي الْحَمِيمِ ثُمَّ فِي النَّارِ يُسْجَرُونَ
*Katika maji ya moto, kisha wanaunguzwa Motoni,
*into scalding waters and then set aflame in the Fire.
40:73
ثُمَّ قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تُشْرِكُونَ
*Tena wataambiwa: Wako wapi mlio kuwa mkiwashirikisha
*Then they will be told, ‘Where are they whom you used to worship as deities
40:74
مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا بَلْ لَمْ نَكُنْ نَدْعُو مِنْ قَبْلُ شَيْئًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُضِلُّ اللَّهُ الْكَافِرِينَ
*Badala ya Mwenyezi Mungu? Watasema: Wametupotea, bali tangu zamani hatukuwa tukiomba kitu! Hivyo ndivyo Mwenyezi Mungu anawaachia makafiri wapotelee mbali.
*besides Allah?’ They will say, ‘They have forsaken us. No, we did not invoke anything before.’ That is how Allah leads the faithless astray.
40:75
ذَٰلِكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَبِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَمْرَحُونَ
*Haya ni kwa sababu mlikuwa mkijitapa katika ardhi pasipo haki, na kwa sababu mlikuwa mkijishaua.
*‘That [punishment] is because you used to boast unduly on the earth and because you used to strut.
40:76
ادْخُلُوا أَبْوَابَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۖ فَبِئْسَ مَثْوَى الْمُتَكَبِّرِينَ
*Ingieni kwenye milango ya Jahannamu, mdumu humo milele. Basi ni maovu yaliyoje makaazi ya wanao takabari!
*Enter the gates of hell, to remain in it [forever].’ Evil is the [final] abode of the arrogant.
40:77
فَاصْبِرْ إِنَّ وَعْدَ اللَّهِ حَقٌّ ۚ فَإِمَّا نُرِيَنَّكَ بَعْضَ الَّذِي نَعِدُهُمْ أَوْ نَتَوَفَّيَنَّكَ فَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ
*Basi subiri, hakika ahadi ya Mwenyezi Mungu ni ya kweli. Na ama tukikuonyesha baadhi ya yale tuliyo waahidi au tukikufisha, lakini wao watarudishwa kwetu tu.
*So be patient! Allah’s promise is indeed true. Whether We show you a part of what We promise them, or take you away [before that], [in any case] they will be brought back to Us.
40:78
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُلًا مِنْ قَبْلِكَ مِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ لَمْ نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَ ۗ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ ۚ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قُضِيَ بِالْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ
*Na bila ya shaka tuliwatuma Mitume kabla yako. Wengine katika hao tumekusimulia khabari zao, na wengine hatukukusimulia. Na haiwi Mtume alete Ishara yoyote ila kwa idhini ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Basi ikija amri ya Mwenyezi Mungu huhukumiwa kwa Haki, na hapo wapotofu watakhasiri.
*Certainly We have sent apostles before you. Of them are those We have recounted to you, and of them are those We have not recounted to you. An apostle may not bring any sign except by Allah’s permission. Hence, when Allah’s edict comes, judgment is made with justice, and it is thence that the falsifiers become losers.
40:79
اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَنْعَامَ لِتَرْكَبُوا مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ
*Mwenyezi Mungu aliye kujaalieni nyama hoa, mifugo, ili muwapande baadhi yao, na muwale baadhi yao.
*It is Allah who created the cattle for you that you may ride some of them, and some of them you eat;
40:80
وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الْفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ
*Na katika hao mnayo manufaa kadhaa wa kadhaa, na mnapata kwao haja ziliomo vifuani mwenu; na mnachukuliwa juu yao, na juu ya marikebu.
*and there are [numerous] uses in them for you, and that over them you may satisfy any need that is in your breasts, and you are carried on them and on ships.
40:81
وَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ فَأَيَّ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُنْكِرُونَ
*Naye anakuonyesheni Ishara zake. Basi Ishara gani za Mwenyezi Mungu mnazo zikataa?
*He shows you His signs. So which of the signs of Allah do you deny?
40:82
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَارًا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
*Kwani hawatembei katika ardhi wakaona ulikuwaje mwisho wa walio kuwa kabla yao? Wao walikuwa wengi kuliko hawa, na wamewashinda kwa nguvu na athari katika nchi. Wala hayakuwafaa hayo waliyo kuwa wakiyachuma.
*Have they not travelled over the land so that they may observe how was the fate of those who were before them? They were more numerous than them and were greater [than them] in power and with respect to the effects [they left] in the land. But what they used to earn did not avail them.
40:83
فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِنْدَهُمْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
*Walipo wajia Mitume wao kwa dalili zilizo wazi walijitapa kwa ilimu waliyo kuwa nayo. Basi yakawazunguka waliyo kuwa wakiyafanyia maskhara.
*When their apostles brought them manifest proofs, they boasted about the knowledge they possessed, but they were besieged by what they used to deride.
40:84
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِ مُشْرِكِينَ
*Walipo iona adhabu yetu walisema: Tumemuamini Mwenyezi Mungu kuwa ni wa pekee, na tunaikataa miungu tuliyo kuwa tukiishirikisha naye.
*Then, when they sighted Our punishment, they said, ‘We believe in Allah alone, and disavow what we used to take as His partners.’
40:85
فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنْفَعُهُمْ إِيمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا ۖ سُنَّتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ فِي عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الْكَافِرُونَ
*Lakini imani yao haikuwa yenye kuwafaa kitu wakati ambao wamekwisha iona adhabu yetu. Huu ndio mwendo wa Mwenyezi Mungu ulio kuwa kwa waja wake. Na hapo walio kufuru walikhasiri.
*But their faith was of no benefit to them when they sighted Our punishment—Allah’s precedent, which has passed among His servants, and it is thence that the faithless will be losers.
