Sura 54 - Al-Qamar

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
54:1
اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ
*Saa imekaribia, na mwezi umepasuka!
*The Hour has drawn near and the moon is split.
54:2
وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ
*Na wakiona Ishara hugeuka upande na husema: Huu uchawi tu unazidi kuendelea.
*If they see a sign, they turn away, and say, ‘An incessant magic!’
54:3
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِرٌّ
*Na wamekanusha na wamefuata matamanio yao. Na kila jambo ni lenye kuthibiti.
*They denied and followed their own desires, and every matter has a setting [appropriate to it].
54:4
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
*Na bila ya shaka zimewajia khabari zenye makaripio.
*There have already come to them reports containing admonishment,
54:5
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ
*Hikima kaamili; lakini maonyo hayafai kitu!
*[and representing] far-reaching wisdom; but warnings are of no avail!
54:6
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ
*Basi jiepushe nao. Siku atakapo ita mwitaji kuliendea jambo linalo chusha;
*So turn away from them! The day when the Caller calls to a dire thing,
54:7
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنْتَشِرٌ
*Macho yao yatainama; watatoka makaburini kama nzige walio tawanyika,
*they will emerge from the graves as if they were scattered locusts with a humbled look [in their eyes],
54:8
مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ
*Wanamkimbilia mwitaji, na makafiri wanasema: Hii ni siku ngumu.
*scrambling toward the summoner. The faithless will say, ‘This is a hard day!’
54:9
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ
*Kabla yao kaumu ya Nuhu walikanusha; wakamkanusha mja wetu, na wakasema ni mwendawazimu, na akakaripiwa.
*The people of Noah impugned before them. So they impugned Our servant and said, ‘A crazy man,’ and he was reviled.
54:10
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ
*Basi akamwomba Mola wake Mlezi akasema: Kwa hakika mimi nimeshindwa, basi ninusuru!
*Thereat he invoked his Lord, [saying,] ‘I have been overcome, so help [me].’
54:11
فَفَتَحْنَا أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَاءٍ مُنْهَمِرٍ
*Basi tukaifungua milango ya mbingu kwa maji yanayo miminika.
*Then We opened the gates of the sky with pouring waters,
54:12
وَفَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُونًا فَالْتَقَى الْمَاءُ عَلَىٰ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ
*Na tukazipasua ardhi kwa chemchem, yakakutana maji kwa jambo lilio kadiriwa.
*and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and the waters met for a preordained purpose.
54:13
وَحَمَلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَاحٍ وَدُسُرٍ
*Na tukamchukua kwenye safina ya mbao na kamba.
*We bore him on a vessel made of planks and nails,
54:14
تَجْرِي بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَاءً لِمَنْ كَانَ كُفِرَ
*Ikawa inakwenda kwa nadhari yetu, kuwa ni malipo kwa alivyo kuwa amekanushwa.
*which sailed [over the flood waters] in Our sight, as a retribution for him who was met with disbelief.
54:15
وَلَقَدْ تَرَكْنَاهَا آيَةً فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ
*Na bila ya shaka tuliiacha iwe ni Ishara. Lakini je, yupo anaye kumbuka?
*Certainly We have left it as a sign; so is there anyone who will be admonished?
54:16
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
*Basi ilikuwaje adhabu yangu, na maonyo yangu.
*So how were My punishment and warnings?
54:17
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ
*Na bila ya shaka Sisi tumeifanya Qur´ani iwe nyepesi kufahamika. Lakini yupo anaye kumbuka?
*Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?
54:18
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
*Kina A´di walikanusha. Basi ilikuwaje adhabu yangu na maonyo yangu?
*[The people of] ‘Ad impugned [their apostle]. So how were My punishment and warnings?
54:19
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًا صَرْصَرًا فِي يَوْمِ نَحْسٍ مُسْتَمِرٍّ
*Hakika Sisi tuliwapelekea upepo wa kimbunga katika siku korofi mfululizo,
*Indeed We unleashed upon them an icy gale on an incessantly ill-fated day,
54:20
تَنْزِعُ النَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ مُنْقَعِرٍ
*Ukiwang´oa watu kama vigogo vya mitende vilio ng´olewa.
*knocking down people as if they were trunks of uprooted palm trees.
54:21
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
*Basi ilikuwaje adhabu yangu na maonyo yangu?
*So how were My punishment and warnings?!
54:22
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ
*Na bila ya shaka Sisi tumeifanya Qur´ani nyepesi kufahamika; lakini yupo anaye kumbuka?
*Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?
54:23
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِالنُّذُرِ
*Thamudi waliwakanusha Waonyaji.
*[The people of] Thamud denied the warnings,
54:24
فَقَالُوا أَبَشَرًا مِنَّا وَاحِدًا نَتَّبِعُهُ إِنَّا إِذًا لَفِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
*Wakasema: Ati tumfuate binaadamu mmoja katika sisi? Basi hivyo sisi tutakuwa katika upotofu na kichaa!
*and they said, ‘Are we to follow a lone human from ourselves?! Indeed then we would be in error and madness.’
54:25
أَأُلْقِيَ الذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌ
*Ni yeye tu aliye teremshiwa huo ukumbusho kati yetu sote? Bali huyu ni mwongo mwenye kiburi!
*‘Has the Reminder been cast upon him from among us? No, he is a self-conceited liar.’
54:26
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًا مَنِ الْكَذَّابُ الْأَشِرُ
*Kesho watajua ni nani huyo mwongo mwenye kiburi.
*‘Tomorrow they will know who is a self-conceited liar.
54:27
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُو النَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةً لَهُمْ فَارْتَقِبْهُمْ وَاصْطَبِرْ
*Hakika Sisi tutawapelekea ngamia jike ili kuwajaribu, basi watazame tu na ustahamili.
*We are sending the She-camel as a trial for them; so watch them and be steadfast.
54:28
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ الْمَاءَ قِسْمَةٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍ مُحْتَضَرٌ
*Na waambie kwamba maji yatagawanywa baina yao; kila sehemu ya maji itahudhuriwa na aliye khusika.
*Inform them that the water is to be shared between them; each of them showing up at his turn.’
54:29
فَنَادَوْا صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
*Basi wakamwita mtu wao akaja akamchinja.
*But they called their companion, and he took [a knife] and hamstrung [her].
54:30
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
*Basi ilikuwaje adhabu yangu na maonyo yangu!
*So how were My punishment and My warnings?!
54:31
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَكَانُوا كَهَشِيمِ الْمُحْتَظِرِ
*Hakika Sisi tuliwapelekea ukelele mmoja tu, wakawa kama mabuwa ya kujengea uwa.
*We sent against them a single Cry, and they became like the dry sticks of a corral builder.
54:32
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ
*Na bila ya shaka Sisi tumeifanya Qur´ani iwe nyepesi kwa kukumbuka, lakini yupo akumbukaye?
*Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?
54:33
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ بِالنُّذُرِ
*Kaumu Lut´i nao waliwakadhibisha Waonyaji.
*And the people of Lot denied the warnings.
54:34
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ ۖ نَجَّيْنَاهُمْ بِسَحَرٍ
*Hakika Sisi tukawapelekea kimbunga cha vijiwe, isipo kuwa wafuasi wa Lut´i. Hao tuliwaokoa karibu na alfajiri.
*We unleashed upon them a rain of stones, excepting the family of Lot, whom We delivered at dawn
54:35
نِعْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ شَكَرَ
*Kwa neema inayo toka kwetu. Hivyo ndivyo tumlipavyo anaye shukuru.
*as a blessing from Us. Thus do We reward those who give thanks.
54:36
وَلَقَدْ أَنْذَرَهُمْ بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا بِالنُّذُرِ
*Na hakika yeye aliwaonya adhabu yetu; lakini wao waliyatilia shaka hayo maonyo.
*He had already warned them of Our punishment, but they disputed the warnings.
54:37
وَلَقَدْ رَاوَدُوهُ عَنْ ضَيْفِهِ فَطَمَسْنَا أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
*Na walimtaka awape wageni wake. Tukayapofua macho yao, na tukawaambia: Onjeni basi adhabu na maonyo yangu!
*They even solicited of him his guests, whereat We blotted out their eyes, [saying,] ‘Taste My punishment and My warnings!’
54:38
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُمْ بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌ مُسْتَقِرٌّ
*Na iliwafikia wakati wa asubuhi adhabu yangu ya kuendelea.
*Early at dawn there visited them an abiding punishment:
54:39
فَذُوقُوا عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ
*Basi onjeni adhabu na maonyo yangu!
*‘Taste My punishment and warnings!’
54:40
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ
*Na hakika tumeisahilisha Qur´ani kuikumbuka. Lakini yupo anaye kumbuka?
*Certainly We have made the Quran simple for the sake of admonishment. So is there anyone who will be admonished?
54:41
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ النُّذُرُ
*Na Waonyaji waliwafikia watu wa Firauni.
*Certainly the warnings did come to Pharaoh’s clan
54:42
كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ
*Walizikadhibisha Ishara zetu zote, nasi tukawashika kama anavyo shika Mwenye nguvu Mwenye uweza.
*who denied all of Our signs. So We seized them with the seizing of One [who is] all-mighty, Omnipotent.
54:43
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أُولَٰئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُمْ بَرَاءَةٌ فِي الزُّبُرِ
*Je! Makafiri wenu ni bora kuliko hao, au yameandikwa vitabuni kuwa nyinyi hamtiwi makosani?
*Are your faithless better than those? Have you [been granted] [some sort of] immunity in the scriptures?
54:44
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌ مُنْتَصِرٌ
*Au ndio wanasema: Sisi ni wengi tutashinda tu.
*Do they say, ‘We are a confederate league’?
54:45
سَيُهْزَمُ الْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ الدُّبُرَ
*Wingi wao huu utashindwa, na wao watasukumwa nyuma.
*The league will be routed and turn its back [to flee].
54:46
بَلِ السَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَالسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
*Bali Saa ya Kiyama ndio miadi yao, na Saa hiyo ni nzito zaidi na chungu zaidi.
*Indeed, the Hour is their tryst; and the Hour will be most calamitous and bitter.
54:47
إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَالٍ وَسُعُرٍ
*Hakika wakosefu wamo katika upotofu na wazimu.
*Indeed the guilty are steeped in error and madness.
54:48
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ
*Siku watakapo kokotwa Motoni kifudifudi waambiwe: Onjeni mguso wa Jahannamu!
*The day when they are dragged on their faces into the Fire, [it will be said to them,] ‘Taste the touch of hell!’
54:49
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ
*Kwa hakika Sisi tumekiumba kila kitu kwa kipimo.
*Indeed We have created everything in a measure,
54:50
وَمَا أَمْرُنَا إِلَّا وَاحِدَةٌ كَلَمْحٍ بِالْبَصَرِ
*Na amri yetu haikuwa ila ni moja tu, kama kupepesa jicho.
*and Our command is but a single [word], like the twinkling of an eye.
54:51
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ
*Na bila ya shaka tumekwisha waangamiza wenzenu. Lakini yupo anaye kumbuka?
*Certainly We have destroyed your likes. So is there anyone who will be admonished?
54:52
وَكُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَعَلُوهُ فِي الزُّبُرِ
*Na kila jambo walilo lifanya limo vitabuni.
*Everything they have done is in the books,
54:53
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍ وَكَبِيرٍ مُسْتَطَرٌ
*Na kila kidogo na kikubwa kimeandikwa.
*and everything big and small is committed to writing.
54:54
إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَنَهَرٍ
*Hakika wachamngu watakuwa katika Mabustani na mito.
*Indeed the Godwary will be amid gardens and streams,
54:55
فِي مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَ مَلِيكٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ
*Katika makalio ya haki kwa Mfalme Mwenye uweza.
*in the abode of truthfulness with an omnipotent King.
