Sura 7 - Al-A'raaf

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
7:1
المص
*ALIF LAM MYM ´SAAD
*Alif, Lam, Mim, Suad.
7:2
كِتَابٌ أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ فَلَا يَكُنْ فِي صَدْرِكَ حَرَجٌ مِنْهُ لِتُنْذِرَ بِهِ وَذِكْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
*Kitabu kilicho teremshwa kwako - basi isiwe dhiki kifuani kwako kwa ajili yake, upate kuonya kwacho, na kiwe ni ukumbusho kwa Waumini.
*[This is] a Book that has been sent down to you—so let there be no disquiet in your heart on its account that you may warn thereby—and as an admonition for the faithful.
7:3
اتَّبِعُوا مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَا تَذَكَّرُونَ
*Fuateni mliyo teremshiwa kutoka kwa Mola Mlezi wenu, wala msifuate rafiki au walinzi wengine badala yake. Ni machache mnayo yakumbuka.
*Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow any masters besides Him. Little is the admonition that you take!
7:4
وَكَمْ مِنْ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا فَجَاءَهَا بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا أَوْ هُمْ قَائِلُونَ
*Na miji mingapi tuliiangamiza, ikaifikia adhabu yetu usiku au walipo kuwa wamelala adhuhuri.
*How many a town We have destroyed! Our punishment came to it at night, or while they were taking a midday nap.
7:5
فَمَا كَانَ دَعْوَاهُمْ إِذْ جَاءَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
*Basi hakikuwa kilio chao ilipo wafikia adhabu yetu, isipo kuwa kusema: Hakika sisi tulikuwa wenye kudhulumu.
*Then their cry, when Our punishment overtook them, was only that they said, ‘We have indeed been wrongdoers!’
7:6
فَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الَّذِينَ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَنَسْأَلَنَّ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
*Na kwa yakini tutawauliza wale walio pelekewa Ujumbe, na pia tutawauliza hao Wajumbe.
*We will surely question those to whom the apostles were sent, and We will surely question the apostles.
7:7
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ بِعِلْمٍ ۖ وَمَا كُنَّا غَائِبِينَ
*Tena tutawasimulia kwa ilimu; wala Sisi hatukuwa mbali.
*Then We will surely recount to them with knowledge, for We had not been absent.
7:8
وَالْوَزْنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْحَقُّ ۚ فَمَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
*Na Siku hiyo kipimo kitakuwa kwa Haki. Basi watakao kuwa na uzani mzito, hao ndio watakao fanikiwa.
*The weighing [of deeds] on that Day is a truth. As for those whose deeds weigh heavy in the scales—it is they who are the felicitous.
7:9
وَمَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ فَأُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَظْلِمُونَ
*Na watakao kuwa na uzani khafifu, basi hao ndio walio zitia khasarani nafsi zao kwa sababu ya kuzipinga Ishara zetu.
*As for those whose deeds weigh light in the scales—it is they who have ruined their souls, because they used to wrong Our signs.
7:10
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَكُمْ فِيهَا مَعَايِشَ ۗ قَلِيلًا مَا تَشْكُرُونَ
*Na hakika tumekuwekeni katika ardhi, na tumekujaalieni humo njia za kupatia maisha. Ni kuchache kushukuru kwenu.
*Certainly We have established you on the earth, and made in it [various] means of livelihood for you. Little do you thank.
7:11
وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنَ السَّاجِدِينَ
*Na hakika tulikuumbeni, kisha tukakutieni sura, kisha tukawaambia Malaika: Msujudieni Adam. Basi wakasujudu isipo kuwa Iblisi, hakuwa miongoni mwa walio sujudu.
*Certainly We created you, then We formed you, then We said to the angels, ‘Prostrate before Adam.’ So they [all] prostrated, but not Iblis: he was not among those who prostrated.
7:12
قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلَّا تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ ۖ قَالَ أَنَا خَيْرٌ مِنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِنْ نَارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِنْ طِينٍ
*Mwenyezi Mungu akasema: Nini kilicho kuzuia kumsujudia nilipo kuamrisha? Akasema: Mimi ni bora kuliko yeye. Umeniumba kwa moto, naye umemuumba kwa udongo.
*Said He, ‘What prevented you from prostrating, when I commanded you? ’‘I am better than him,’ he said. ‘You created me from fire and You created him from clay.’
7:13
قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَنْ تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ
*Akasema: Basi teremka kutoka humo! Haikufalii kufanya kiburi humo. Basi toka! Hakika wewe u miongoni mwa walio duni.
*‘Get down from it!’ He said. ‘It is not for you to be arrogant therein. Begone! You are indeed among the degraded ones.’
7:14
قَالَ أَنْظِرْنِي إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ
*Akasema: Nipe muhula mpaka siku watakapo fufuliwa.
*He said, ‘Respite me till the day they will be resurrected.’
7:15
قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الْمُنْظَرِينَ
*Akasema: Utakuwa miongoni mwa walio pewa muhula.
*Said He, ‘You are indeed among the reprieved.’
7:16
قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ
*Akasema: Kwa kuwa umenihukumia upotofu, basi nitawavizia katika Njia yako Iliyo Nyooka.
*‘As You have consigned me to perversity,’ he said, ‘I will surely lie in wait for them on Your straight path.
7:17
ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُمْ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِهِمْ ۖ وَلَا تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِينَ
*Kisha nitawazukia mbele yao na nyuma yao na kuliani kwao na kushotoni kwao. Wala hutawakuta wengi wao wenye shukrani.
*Then I will come at them from their front and from their rear, and from their right and their left, and You will not find most of them to be grateful.’
7:18
قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْءُومًا مَدْحُورًا ۖ لَمَنْ تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنْكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
*Akasema: Toka humo, nawe umekwisha fedheheka, umekwisha fukuzwa. Hapana shaka atakaye kufuata miongoni mwao, basi nitaijaza Jahannam kwa nyinyi nyote.
*Said He, ‘Begone hence, blameful and banished! Whoever of them follows you, I will surely fill hell with you all.’
7:19
وَيَا آدَمُ اسْكُنْ أَنْتَ وَزَوْجُكَ الْجَنَّةَ فَكُلَا مِنْ حَيْثُ شِئْتُمَا وَلَا تَقْرَبَا هَٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةَ فَتَكُونَا مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Na wewe, Adam! Kaa wewe na mkeo katika Bustani hii, na kuleni humo mpendapo. Wala msiukaribie mti huu, mkawa katika wale walio dhulumu.
*[Then He said to Adam,] ‘O Adam, dwell with your mate in paradise, and eat thereof whence you wish; but do not approach this tree, lest you should be among the wrongdoers.’
7:20
فَوَسْوَسَ لَهُمَا الشَّيْطَانُ لِيُبْدِيَ لَهُمَا مَا وُورِيَ عَنْهُمَا مِنْ سَوْآتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَاكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنْ هَٰذِهِ الشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّا أَنْ تَكُونَا مَلَكَيْنِ أَوْ تَكُونَا مِنَ الْخَالِدِينَ
*Basi Shet´ani aliwatia wasiwasi ili kuwafichulia tupu zao walizo fichiwa, na akasema: Mola Mlezi wenu hakukukatazeni mti huu ila msije mkawa Malaika, au msije mkawa katika wanao ishi milele.
*Then Satan tempted them, to expose to them what was hidden from them of their nakedness, and he said, ‘Your Lord has only forbidden you from this tree lest you should become angels, or lest you become immortal.’
7:21
وَقَاسَمَهُمَا إِنِّي لَكُمَا لَمِنَ النَّاصِحِينَ
*Naye akawaapia: Kwa yakini mimi ni miongoni wa wanao kunasihini.
*And he swore to them, ‘I am indeed your well-wisher.’
7:22
فَدَلَّاهُمَا بِغُرُورٍ ۚ فَلَمَّا ذَاقَا الشَّجَرَةَ بَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِنْ وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ وَنَادَاهُمَا رَبُّهُمَا أَلَمْ أَنْهَكُمَا عَنْ تِلْكُمَا الشَّجَرَةِ وَأَقُلْ لَكُمَا إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ
*Basi akawateka kwa khadaa. Walipo uonja ule mti, tupu zao zilifichuka na wakaingia kujibandika majani ya Bustanini. Mola wao Mlezi akawaita: Je, sikukukatazeni mti huo, na kukwambieni ya kwamba Shet´ani ni adui yenu wa dhaahiri?
*Thus he brought about their fall by deception. So when they tasted of the tree, their nakedness became exposed to them, and they began to stitch over themselves with the leaves of paradise. Their Lord called out to them, ‘Did I not forbid you from that tree, and tell you, ‘‘Satan is indeed your manifest enemy?’’ ’
7:23
قَالَا رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
*Wakasema: Mola wetu Mlezi! tumejidhulumu nafsi zetu, na kama hutusamehe na kuturehemu, hakika tutakuwa katika wenye kukhasirika.
*They said, ‘Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves! If You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.’
7:24
قَالَ اهْبِطُوا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ وَلَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ مُسْتَقَرٌّ وَمَتَاعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٍ
*Akasema: Teremkeni! Mtakuwa nyinyi kwa nyinyi maadui. Na kwenye ardhi itakuwa ndio makao yenu na starehe yenu mpaka ufike muda.
*He said, ‘Get down, being enemies of one another! On the earth shall be your abode and sustenance for a time.’
7:25
قَالَ فِيهَا تَحْيَوْنَ وَفِيهَا تَمُوتُونَ وَمِنْهَا تُخْرَجُونَ
*Akasema: Humo mtaishi, na humo mtakufa, na kutoka humo mtatolewa.
*He said, ‘In it you will live, and in it you will die; and from it you will be raised [from the dead].’
7:26
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْآتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
*Enyi wanaadamu! Tumekuteremshieni nguo za kuficha tupu zenu, na nguo za pambo. Na nguo za uchamngu ndio bora. Hayo ni katika Ishara za Mwenyezi Mungu mpate kukumbuka.
*‘O Children of Adam! We have certainly sent down to you garments to cover your nakedness, and for adornment. Yet the garment of Godwariness—that is the best.’ That is [one] of Allah’s signs, so that they may take admonition.
7:27
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ لَا يَفْتِنَنَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانُ كَمَا أَخْرَجَ أَبَوَيْكُمْ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ يَنْزِعُ عَنْهُمَا لِبَاسَهُمَا لِيُرِيَهُمَا سَوْآتِهِمَا ۗ إِنَّهُ يَرَاكُمْ هُوَ وَقَبِيلُهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا تَرَوْنَهُمْ ۗ إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ لِلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Eny wanaadamu! Asije Shet´ani kukufitinini kama alivyo watoa wazazi wenu Peponi, akawavua nguo zao kuwaonyesha tupu zao. Hakika yeye na kabila yake wanakuoneni, na nyinyi hamuwaoni. Hakika Sisi tumewafanya Mashet´ani kuwa ni marafiki wa wasio amini.
*‘O Children of Adam! Do not let Satan tempt you, like he expelled your parents from paradise, stripping them of their garments to expose to them their nakedness. Indeed he sees you—he and his hosts—whence you do not see them. We have indeed made the devils friends of those who have no faith.’
7:28
وَإِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً قَالُوا وَجَدْنَا عَلَيْهَا آبَاءَنَا وَاللَّهُ أَمَرَنَا بِهَا ۗ قُلْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَأْمُرُ بِالْفَحْشَاءِ ۖ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
*Na wanapo fanya mambo machafu husema: Tumewakuta nayo baba zetu, na Mwenyezi Mungu ametuamrisha hayo. Sema: Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu haamrishi mambo machafu. Mnamzulia Mwenyezi Mungu msiyo yajua?
*When they commit an indecency, they say, ‘We found our fathers practising it, and Allah has enjoined it upon us.’ Say, ‘Indeed Allah does not enjoin indecencies. Do you attribute to Allah what you do not know?’
7:29
قُلْ أَمَرَ رَبِّي بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَأَقِيمُوا وُجُوهَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَادْعُوهُ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ ۚ كَمَا بَدَأَكُمْ تَعُودُونَ
*Sema: Mola Mlezi wangu ameamrisha uadilifu, na mumuelekeze nyuso zenu kila mnapo sujudu, na muombeni Yeye kwa kumsafia Dini. Kama alivyo kuumbeni mwanzo ndivyo mtavyo rudi,
*Say, ‘My Lord has enjoined justice,’ and [He has enjoined,] ‘Set your heart [on Him] at every occasion of prayer, and invoke Him, putting your exclusive faith in Him. Even as He brought you forth in the beginning, so will you return.’
7:30
فَرِيقًا هَدَىٰ وَفَرِيقًا حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الضَّلَالَةُ ۗ إِنَّهُمُ اتَّخَذُوا الشَّيَاطِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَيَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّهُمْ مُهْتَدُونَ
*Hali ya kuwa kundi moja amelihidi, na kundi jengine limethibitikiwa na upotofu. Kwa hakika hao waliwafanya mashet´ani kuwa ndio marafiki walinzi badala ya Mwenyezi Mungu, na wanadhani kuwa wao wameongoka.
*A part [of mankind] He has guided and a part has deserved [to be consigned to] error, for they took devils for guardians instead of Allah, and supposed they were guided.
7:31
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ خُذُوا زِينَتَكُمْ عِنْدَ كُلِّ مَسْجِدٍ وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا وَلَا تُسْرِفُوا ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْرِفِينَ
*Enyi wanaadamu! Chukueni pambo lenu kwenye kila pahala wakati wa ibada, na kuleni, na kunyweni na wala msifanye ubadhirifu. Kwa hakika Yeye hapendi wanao fanya israfu.
*O Children of Adam! Put on your adornment on every occasion of prayer, and eat and drink, but do not waste; indeed, He does not like the wasteful.
7:32
قُلْ مَنْ حَرَّمَ زِينَةَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي أَخْرَجَ لِعِبَادِهِ وَالطَّيِّبَاتِ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ ۚ قُلْ هِيَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا خَالِصَةً يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ
*Sema: Ni nani aliye harimisha pambo la Mwenyezi Mungu alilo watolea waja wake, na vilivyo vizuri katika riziki. Sema hivyo ni kwa walio amini katika uhai wa duniani, na Siku ya Kiyama vitakuwa vyao wao tu. Namna hivi tunazieleza Ishara kwa watu wanao jua.
*Say, ‘Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has brought forth for His servants, and the good things of [His] provision?’ Say, ‘These are for the faithful in the life of this world, and exclusively for them on the Day of Resurrection.’ Thus do We elaborate the signs for a people who have knowledge.
7:33
قُلْ إِنَّمَا حَرَّمَ رَبِّيَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَالْإِثْمَ وَالْبَغْيَ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَأَنْ تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ مَا لَمْ يُنَزِّلْ بِهِ سُلْطَانًا وَأَنْ تَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
*Sema: Mola Mlezi wangu ameharimisha mambo machafu ya dhaahiri na ya siri, na dhambi, na uasi bila ya haki, na kumshirikisha Mwenyezi Mungu na asicho kiletea uthibitisho, na kumzulia Mwenyezi Mungu msiyo yajua.
*Say, ‘My Lord has only forbidden indecencies, the outward among them and the inward ones, and sin and undue aggression, and that you should ascribe to Allah partners for which He has not sent down any authority, and that you should attribute to Allah what you do not know.’
7:34
وَلِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَجَلٌ ۖ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ لَا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً ۖ وَلَا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
*Na kila umma una muda wake. Utakapo fika muda wao basi hawatakawia hata saa moja, wala hawatatangulia.
*There is a [preordained] time for every nation: when their time comes, they shall not defer it by a single hour nor shall they advance it.
7:35
يَا بَنِي آدَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِنْكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي ۙ فَمَنِ اتَّقَىٰ وَأَصْلَحَ فَلَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
*Enyi wanaadamu! Watakapo kufikieni Mitume miongoni mwenu wakakuelezeni Ishara zangu, basi watakao mchamngu na wakatengenea haitakuwa khofu kwao, wala hawatahuzunika.
*O Children of Adam! If there come to you apostles from among yourselves, recounting to you My signs, then those who are Godwary and righteous will have no fear, nor will they grieve.
7:36
وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
*Na wale watakao kanusha Ishara zetu na wakazifanyia kiburi, hao ni watu wa Motoni; humo watadumu.
*But those who deny Our signs and are disdainful of them, they shall be the inmates of the Fire and they shall remain in it [forever].
7:37
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ يَنَالُهُمْ نَصِيبُهُمْ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُنَا يَتَوَفَّوْنَهُمْ قَالُوا أَيْنَ مَا كُنْتُمْ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ ۖ قَالُوا ضَلُّوا عَنَّا وَشَهِدُوا عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَافِرِينَ
*Basi ni nani dhaalimu mkubwa kuliko yule anaye mzulia Mwenyezi Mungu uwongo, au anaye zikanusha Ishara zake? Hao itawafikia sehemu yao waliyo andikiwa, mpaka watakapo wafikia wajumbe wetu kuwafisha, watawaambia: Wako wapi mlio kuwa mkiwaomba badala ya Mwenyezi Mungu? Watasema: Wametupotea! Na watajishuhudia wenyewe kwamba walikuwa makafiri.
*So who is a greater wrongdoer than him who fabricates a lie against Allah, or denies His signs? Their share, as decreed in the Book, shall reach them. When Our messengers come to take them away, they will say, ‘Where is that which you used to invoke besides Allah?’ They will say, ‘They have forsaken us,’ and they will testify against themselves that they were faithless.
7:38
قَالَ ادْخُلُوا فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ فِي النَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لِأُولَاهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَآتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِنَ النَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
*Mwenyezi Mungu atasema: Ingieni Motoni pamoja na umma zilizo pita kabla yenu za majini na watu. Kila utakapo ingia umma utawalaani wenzake. Mpaka watakapo kusanyika wote humo, wa mwisho wao watawasema wa mwanzo wao: Mola wetu Mlezi! Hawa ndio walio tupoteza; basi wape adhabu ya Motoni marudufu. Atasema: Itakuwa kwenu nyote marudufu, lakini nyinyi hamjui tu.
*He will say, ‘Enter the Fire, along with the nations of jinn and humans who passed before you!’ Every time that a nation enters [hell], it will curse its sister [nation]. When they all rejoin in it, the last of them will say about the first of them, ‘Our Lord, it was they who led us astray; so give them a double punishment of the Fire.’ He will say, ‘It is double for each [of you], but you do not know.’
7:39
وَقَالَتْ أُولَاهُمْ لِأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ
*Na wa mwanzo wao watawaambia wa mwisho wao: Basi nyinyi pia hamkuwa na ubora kuliko sisi. Basi onjeni adhabu kwa sababu ya mliyo kuwa mkiyachuma.
*And the first of them will say to the last of them, ‘You have no merit over us! So taste the punishment because of what you used to earn.’
7:40
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِمِينَ
*Hakika wale wanao zikanusha Ishara zetu na wakazifanyia kiburi hawatafunguliwa milango ya mbingu, wala hawataingia Peponi mpaka apite ngamia katika tundu ya sindano. Na hivi ndivyo tunavyo walipa wakosefu.
*Indeed, those who deny Our signs and are disdainful of them—the gates of the heaven will not be opened for them, nor shall they enter paradise until the camel passes through the needle’s eye, and thus do We requite the guilty.
7:41
لَهُمْ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِنْ فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ
*Jahannamu itakuwa kitanda chao na juu yao nguo za moto za kujifunika. Na hivi ndivyo tunavyo walipa madhaalimu.
*They shall have hell for their resting place, and over them shall be sheets [of fire], and thus do We requite the wrongdoers.
7:42
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ ۖ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ
*Na wale wanao amini na wakatenda mema - hatumkalifishi mtu yoyote ila kwa kiasi cha uwezo wake - hao ndio watu wa Peponi. Wao watadumu humo.
*As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds—We task no soul except according to its capacity—they shall be the inhabitants of paradise, and they shall remain in it [forever].
7:43
وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غِلٍّ تَجْرِي مِنْ تَحْتِهِمُ الْأَنْهَارُ ۖ وَقَالُوا الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلَا أَنْ هَدَانَا اللَّهُ ۖ لَقَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ ۖ وَنُودُوا أَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
*Na tutaondoa chuki vifuani mwao, na mbele yao iwe inapita mito. Na watasema: Alhamdulillah! Kuhimidiwa ni kwa Mwenyezi Mungu, ambaye aliye tuhidi kufikia haya. Wala hatukuwa wenye kuhidika wenyewe ingeli kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu hakutuhidi. Hakika Mitume wa Mola wetu Mlezi walileta Haki. Na watanadiwa kwamba: Hiyo ndiyo Pepo mliyo rithishwa kwa sababu ya mliyo kuwa mkiyafanya.
*We will remove whatever rancour there is in their breasts, and streams will run for them. They will say, ‘All praise belongs to Allah, who guided us to this. We would have never been guided had not Allah guided us. Our Lord’s apostles had certainly brought the truth.’ And the call would be made to them: ‘This is paradise, which you have been given to inherit because of what you used to do!’
7:44
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ الْجَنَّةِ أَصْحَابَ النَّارِ أَنْ قَدْ وَجَدْنَا مَا وَعَدَنَا رَبُّنَا حَقًّا فَهَلْ وَجَدْتُمْ مَا وَعَدَ رَبُّكُمْ حَقًّا ۖ قَالُوا نَعَمْ ۚ فَأَذَّنَ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ أَنْ لَعْنَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى الظَّالِمِينَ
*Na watu wa Peponi watawanadia watu wa Motoni: Sisi tumekuta aliyo tuahidi Mola wetu Mlezi kuwa ni kweli. Je, na nyinyi pia mmekuta aliyo kuahidini Mola wenu Mlezi kuwa ni kweli? Watasema: Ndiyo! Basi mtangazaji atawatangazia: Laana ya Mwenyezi Mungu iwapate walio dhulumu,
*The inhabitants of paradise will call out to the inmates of the Fire, ‘We found what our Lord promised us to be true; did you find what your Lord promised you to be true?’ ‘Yes,’ they will say. Then a caller will announce in their midst, ‘May Allah’s curse be on the wrongdoers!’
7:45
الَّذِينَ يَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَيَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا وَهُمْ بِالْآخِرَةِ كَافِرُونَ
*Wale ambao walikuwa wakizuilia Njia ya Mwenyezi Mungu, na wakataka kuipotosha, nao wanaikanusha Akhera.
*—Those who bar [others] from the way of Allah, and seek to make it crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter.
7:46
وَبَيْنَهُمَا حِجَابٌ ۚ وَعَلَى الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالٌ يَعْرِفُونَ كُلًّا بِسِيمَاهُمْ ۚ وَنَادَوْا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ سَلَامٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۚ لَمْ يَدْخُلُوهَا وَهُمْ يَطْمَعُونَ
*Na baina ya makundi mawili hayo patakuwapo pazia. Na juu ya Mnyanyuko patakuwa watu watakao wajua wote kwa alama zao, na wao watawaita watu wa Peponi: Assalamu Alaykum, Amani juu yenu! Wao bado hawajaingia humo, lakini wanatumai.
*There will be a veil between them. And on the Elevations will be certain men who recognize each of them by their mark. They will call out to the inhabitants of paradise, ‘Peace be to you!’ (They will not have entered it, though they would be eager to do so.
7:47
وَإِذَا صُرِفَتْ أَبْصَارُهُمْ تِلْقَاءَ أَصْحَابِ النَّارِ قَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجْعَلْنَا مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Na yanapo geuzwa macho yao kuelekea watu wa Motoni, watasema: Mola Mlezi wetu! Usitujaalie kuwa pamoja na watu walio dhulumu.
*And when their look is turned toward the inmates of the Fire, they will say, ‘Our Lord, do not put us among the wrongdoing lot!’)
7:48
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ الْأَعْرَافِ رِجَالًا يَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِسِيمَاهُمْ قَالُوا مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْكُمْ جَمْعُكُمْ وَمَا كُنْتُمْ تَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
*Na hao watu wa Mnyanyukoni watawaita watu wanao wajua kwa alama zao. Watasema: Kujumuika kwenu hakukufaini kitu, wala hicho mlicho kuwa mnafanyia kiburi.
*The occupants of the Elevations will call out to certain men whom they recognize by their marks, ‘Your rallying did not avail you, nor what you used to disdain.
7:49
أَهَٰؤُلَاءِ الَّذِينَ أَقْسَمْتُمْ لَا يَنَالُهُمُ اللَّهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ ۚ ادْخُلُوا الْجَنَّةَ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْكُمْ وَلَا أَنْتُمْ تَحْزَنُونَ
*Je, hawa sio wale mlio kuwa mkiwaapia kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu hatawafikishia rehema. Ingieni Peponi, hapana khofu kwenu, wala hamtahuzunika!
*Are these the ones concerning whom you swore that Allah will not extend them any mercy?’ ‘Enter paradise! You shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve.’
7:50
وَنَادَىٰ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ أَنْ أَفِيضُوا عَلَيْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ أَوْ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ اللَّهُ ۚ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَهُمَا عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ
*Na watu wa Motoni watawaita watu wa Peponi: Tumimieni maji, au chochote alicho kuruzukuni Mwenyezi Mungu. Nao watasema: Hakika Mwenyezi Mungu ameviharimisha hivyo kwa makafiri,
*The inmates of the Fire will call out to the inhabitants of paradise, ‘Pour on us some water, or something of what Allah has provided you.’ They will say, ‘Allah has indeed forbidden these two to the faithless!’
7:51
الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا دِينَهُمْ لَهْوًا وَلَعِبًا وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا ۚ فَالْيَوْمَ نَنْسَاهُمْ كَمَا نَسُوا لِقَاءَ يَوْمِهِمْ هَٰذَا وَمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ
*Ambao waliifanya dini yao kuwa ni pumbao na mchezo, na maisha ya dunia yakawadanganya. Basi leo Sisi tunawasahau kama walivyo usahau mkutano wa Siku yao hii, na kwa sababu ya kule kuzikataa Ishara zetu.
*Those who took their religion for diversion and play and whom the life of the world had deceived. So today, We will forget them as they forgot the encounter of this day of theirs, and as they used to impugn Our signs.
7:52
وَلَقَدْ جِئْنَاهُمْ بِكِتَابٍ فَصَّلْنَاهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ هُدًى وَرَحْمَةً لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Na hakika tumewaletea Kitabu tulicho kipambanua kwa ilimu, uwongofu na rehema kwa watu wenye kuamini.
*Certainly We have brought them a Book, which We have elaborated with knowledge, as a guidance and mercy for a people who have faith.
7:53
هَلْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَّا تَأْوِيلَهُ ۚ يَوْمَ يَأْتِي تَأْوِيلُهُ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ نَسُوهُ مِنْ قَبْلُ قَدْ جَاءَتْ رُسُلُ رَبِّنَا بِالْحَقِّ فَهَلْ لَنَا مِنْ شُفَعَاءَ فَيَشْفَعُوا لَنَا أَوْ نُرَدُّ فَنَعْمَلَ غَيْرَ الَّذِي كُنَّا نَعْمَلُ ۚ قَدْ خَسِرُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَضَلَّ عَنْهُمْ مَا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ
*Je, lipo wanalo lingojea isipo kuwa matokeo yake? Siku yatapo fika matokeo yake watasema wale walio kisahau: Kweli Mitume wa Mola Mlezi wetu walileta Haki! Je, tunao waombezi ili watuombee? Au turudishwe ili tufanye yasiyo kuwa yale tuliyo kuwa tukiyafanya? Bila ya shaka wamejikhasiri nafsi zao, na yamewapotea waliyo kuwa wakiyazua.
*Do they not consider [the consequences of] its fulfillment? The day when its fulfillment comes, those who had forgotten it before will say, ‘Our Lord’s apostles had certainly brought the truth. If only we had some intercessors to intercede for us, or we would be returned, so that we may do differently from what we did!’ They have certainly ruined their souls, and what they used to fabricate has forsaken them.
7:54
إِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِي اللَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهُ حَثِيثًا وَالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُومَ مُسَخَّرَاتٍ بِأَمْرِهِ ۗ أَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْأَمْرُ ۗ تَبَارَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Hakika Mola Mlezi wenu ni Mwenyezi Mungu aliye ziumba mbingu na ardhi katika siku sita. Kisha akatawala juu ya Kiti cha Enzi. Huufunika usiku kwa mchana, ufuatao upesi upesi. Na jua, na mwezi, na nyota zinazo tumika kwa amri yake. Fahamuni! Kuumba na amri ni zake. Ametukuka kabisa Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola Mlezi wa viumbe vyote.
*Indeed your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens and the earth in six days, and then settled on the Throne. He draws the night’s cover over the day, which pursues it swiftly, and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, [all of them] disposed by His command. Look! All creation and command belong to Him. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
7:55
ادْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَخُفْيَةً ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ
*Muombeni Mola wenu Mlezi kwa unyenyekevu na kwa siri. Hakika Yeye hawapendi warukao mipaka.
*Supplicate your Lord, beseechingly and secretly. Indeed, He does not like the transgressors.
7:56
وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا ۚ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
*Wala msifanye uharibifu katika nchi baada ya kuwa imekwisha tengenezwa. Na muombeni kwa kuogopa na kwa kutumai. Hakika rehema ya Mwenyzi Mungu iko karibu na wanao fanya mema.
*And do not cause corruption on the earth after its restoration, and supplicate Him with fear and hope: indeed Allah’s mercy is close to the virtuous.
7:57
وَهُوَ الَّذِي يُرْسِلُ الرِّيَاحَ بُشْرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا أَقَلَّتْ سَحَابًا ثِقَالًا سُقْنَاهُ لِبَلَدٍ مَيِّتٍ فَأَنْزَلْنَا بِهِ الْمَاءَ فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ مِنْ كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُخْرِجُ الْمَوْتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
*Na Yeye ndiye anaye peleka pepo (za kuvuma) kuwa ni bishara kabla ya kufika rehema yake. Hata hizo pepo zinapo beba mawingu mazito tunayachunga mpaka kwenye nchi iliyo kufa. Kisha tunateremsha kwayo maji, ndio kama hivyo tukatolesha kila aina ya matunda. Basi hali kadhaalika tunavyo wafufua wafu, ili mpate kukumbuka.
*It is He who sends forth the winds as harbingers of His mercy. When they bear [rain-] laden clouds, We drive them toward a dead land and send down water on it, and with it We bring forth all kinds of crops. Thus shall We raise the dead; maybe you will take admonition.
7:58
وَالْبَلَدُ الطَّيِّبُ يَخْرُجُ نَبَاتُهُ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ ۖ وَالَّذِي خَبُثَ لَا يَخْرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدًا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ الْآيَاتِ لِقَوْمٍ يَشْكُرُونَ
*Na ardhi njema, yenye udongo wa rutba, hutoa mimea yenye kukua vizuri yenye uhai, kwa idhini ya Mola Mlezi wake. Na ardhi mbaya haitoi ila mimea michache, isiyo na faida, tena kwa shida. Na hivyo ndivyo tunavyo zipambanua Ishara (Aya) kwa watu wanao shukuru.
*The good land—its vegetation comes out by the permission of its Lord, and as for that which is bad, it does not come out except sparsely. Thus do We paraphrase the signs variously for a people who give thanks.
7:59
لَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ فَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ إِنِّي أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
*Tulimpeleka Nuhu kwa kaumu yake, naye akasema: Enyi kaumu yangu! Muabuduni Mwenyezi Mungu. Nyinyi hamna Mungu ila Yeye. Hakika mimi ninakukhofieni adhabu ya Siku iliyo kuu.
*Certainly We sent Noah to his people. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Indeed I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous day.’
7:60
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُبِينٍ
*Wale watukufu katika kaumu yake wakasema: Hakika sisi tunakuona wewe umo katika upotofu ulio dhaahiri.
*The elite of his people said, ‘Indeed we see you in manifest error.’
7:61
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي ضَلَالَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Akasema: Enyi watu wangu! Mimi simo katika upotofu, lakini mimi ni Mtume nitokaye kwa Mola Mlezi wa viumbe vyote.
*He said, ‘O my people, I am not in error. Rather, I am an apostle from the Lord of all the worlds.
7:62
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنْصَحُ لَكُمْ وَأَعْلَمُ مِنَ اللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ
*Nakufikishieni Ujumbe wa Mola Mlezi wangu, na ninakunasihini; na ninayajua kwa Mwenyezi Mungu msiyo yajua nyinyi.
*I communicate to you the messages of my Lord, and I am your well-wisher, and I know from Allah what you do not know.
7:63
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَنْ جَاءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ لِيُنْذِرَكُمْ وَلِتَتَّقُوا وَلَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
*Je, mnastaajabu kukujieni mawaidha yanayotoka kwa Mola Mlezi wenu kwa njia ya mtu aliye ni mmoja katika nyinyi, ili akuonyeni na ili mumchemngu, na ili mpate kurehemewa?
*Do you consider it odd that a reminder from your Lord should come to you through a man from among yourselves, to warn you so that you may be Godwary and so that you may receive His mercy?’
7:64
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَأَغْرَقْنَا الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا عَمِينَ
*Basi walimkanusha. Nasi tukamwokoa yeye na walio kuwa pamoja naye katika jahazi. Na tukawazamisha wale walio kanusha Ishara zetu. Hakika hao walikuwa watu vipofu.
*But they denied him. So We delivered him and those who were with him in the ark, and We drowned those who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a blind lot.
7:65
وَإِلَىٰ عَادٍ أَخَاهُمْ هُودًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
*Na kwa A´adi tulimpeleka ndugu yao, Hud. Akasema: Enyi watu wangu! Muabuduni Mwenyezi Mungu. Nyinyi hamna mungu ila Yeye. Basi je, hamumchi?
*And to [the people of] ‘Ad [We sent] Hud, their brother. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?’
7:66
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ إِنَّا لَنَرَاكَ فِي سَفَاهَةٍ وَإِنَّا لَنَظُنُّكَ مِنَ الْكَاذِبِينَ
*Wakasema watukufu wa wale walio kufuru katika kaumu yake: Sisi tunakuona umo katika upumbavu, na hakika sisi tunakufikiria kuwa wewe ni katika waongo.
*The elite of his people who were faithless said, ‘Indeed we see you to be in folly, and indeed we consider you to be a liar.’
7:67
قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَيْسَ بِي سَفَاهَةٌ وَلَٰكِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Akasema: Enyi watu wangu! Mimi sina upumbavu. Lakini mimi ni Mtume niliye toka kwa Mola Mlezi wa viumbe vyote.
*He said, ‘O my people, I am not in folly. Rather, I am an apostle from the Lord of all the worlds.
7:68
أُبَلِّغُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَأَنَا لَكُمْ نَاصِحٌ أَمِينٌ
*Nakufikishieni ujumbe wa Mola wangu Mlezi. Na mimi kwenu ni mwenye kukunasihini, muaminifu.
*I communicate to you the messages of my Lord and I am a trustworthy well-wisher for you.
7:69
أَوَعَجِبْتُمْ أَنْ جَاءَكُمْ ذِكْرٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٍ مِنْكُمْ لِيُنْذِرَكُمْ ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ مِنْ بَعْدِ قَوْمِ نُوحٍ وَزَادَكُمْ فِي الْخَلْقِ بَسْطَةً ۖ فَاذْكُرُوا آلَاءَ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ
*Mnaona ajabu kukufikieni mawaidha yanayo toka kwa Mola wenu Mlezi kwa mtu aliye mmoja wenu nyinyi ili akuonyeni? Na kumbukeni alivyo kufanyeni mshike pahala pa kaumu ya Nuhu, na akakuzidisheni katika umbo. Basi zikumbukeni neema za Mwenyezi Mungu ili mpate kufanikiwa.
*Do you consider it odd that there should come to you a reminder from your Lord through a man from among yourselves, so that he may warn you? Remember when He made you successors after the people of Noah, and increased you vastly in creation. So remember Allah’s bounties so that you may be felicitous.’
7:70
قَالُوا أَجِئْتَنَا لِنَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَحْدَهُ وَنَذَرَ مَا كَانَ يَعْبُدُ آبَاؤُنَا ۖ فَأْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
*Wakasema: Je! Umetujia ili tumuabudu Mwenyezi Mungu peke yake, na tuyaache waliyo kuwa wakiyaabudu baba zetu? Basi tuletee hayo unayo tuahidi, ukiwa miongoni mwa wasemao kweli.
*They said, ‘Have you come to [tell] us that we should worship Allah alone and abandon what our fathers have been worshiping? Then bring us what you threaten us with, should you be truthful.’
7:71
قَالَ قَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ رِجْسٌ وَغَضَبٌ ۖ أَتُجَادِلُونَنِي فِي أَسْمَاءٍ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَا أَنْتُمْ وَآبَاؤُكُمْ مَا نَزَّلَ اللَّهُ بِهَا مِنْ سُلْطَانٍ ۚ فَانْتَظِرُوا إِنِّي مَعَكُمْ مِنَ الْمُنْتَظِرِينَ
*Akasema: Bila ya shaka adhabu na ghadhabu zimekwisha kukuangukieni kutoka kwa Mola wenu Mlezi. Mnabishana nami kwa ajili ya majina tu mliyo yaita nyinyi na baba zenu ambayo kwayo Mwenyezi Mungu hakuteremsha uthibitisho? Basi ngojeni, mimi pia ni pamoja nanyi katika wanao ngoja.
*He said, ‘Punishment and wrath from your Lord has become due against you. Do you dispute with me regarding names, which you have named—you and your fathers—for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait! I too am waiting along with you.’
7:72
فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنَّا وَقَطَعْنَا دَابِرَ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۖ وَمَا كَانُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ
*Basi tukamwokoa yeye na walio kuwa pamoja naye kwa rehema zetu, na tukakata mizizi ya wale walio zikanusha Ishara zetu, na hawakuwa wenye kuamini.
*Then We delivered him and those who were with him by a mercy from Us, and We rooted out those who denied Our signs and were not faithful.
7:73
وَإِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَالِحًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ هَٰذِهِ نَاقَةُ اللَّهِ لَكُمْ آيَةً ۖ فَذَرُوهَا تَأْكُلْ فِي أَرْضِ اللَّهِ ۖ وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوءٍ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
*Na kwa Thamud tulimpeleka ndugu yao, Saleh. Akasema: Enyi watu wangu! Muabuduni Mwenyezi Mungu. Nyinyi hamna Mungu ila Yeye. Hakika imekwisha kukufikieni Ishara iliyo wazi kutoka kwa Mola wenu Mlezi. Huyu ni ngamia jike wa Mwenyezi Mungu aliye ni Ishara kwenu. Basi mwachieni ale kwenye ardhi ya Mwenyezi Mungu, wala msimdhuru, isije kukushukieni adhabu chungu.
*And to [the people of] Thamud [We sent] Salih, their brother. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. There has certainly come to you a manifest proof from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign for you. Let her alone to graze [freely] in Allah’s land, and do not cause her any harm, for then you shall be seized by a painful punishment.
7:74
وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ جَعَلَكُمْ خُلَفَاءَ مِنْ بَعْدِ عَادٍ وَبَوَّأَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ تَتَّخِذُونَ مِنْ سُهُولِهَا قُصُورًا وَتَنْحِتُونَ الْجِبَالَ بُيُوتًا ۖ فَاذْكُرُوا آلَاءَ اللَّهِ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا فِي الْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
*Na kumbukeni alivyo kufanyeni wa kushika pahala pa A´adi na akakuwekeni vizuri katika nchi, mnajenga majumba ya fakhari katika nyanda zake, na mnachonga majumba katika milima. Basi zikumbukeni neema za Mwenyezi Mungu wala msitende uovu katika nchi kwa ufisadi.
*Remember when He made you successors after [the people of] ‘Ad, and settled you in the land: you build palaces in its plains, and hew houses out of the mountains. So remember Allah’s bounties, and do not act wickedly on the earth, causing corruption.’
7:75
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا لِمَنْ آمَنَ مِنْهُمْ أَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ صَالِحًا مُرْسَلٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ ۚ قَالُوا إِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلَ بِهِ مُؤْمِنُونَ
*Waheshimiwa wa kaumu yake wanao jivuna waliwaambia wanao onewa wenye kuamini miongoni mwao: Je, mnaitakidi ya kwamba Saleh ametumwa na Mola Mlezi wake? Wakasema: Hakika sisi tunayaamini yale aliyo tumwa.
*The elite of his people who were arrogant said to those who were oppressed—to those among them who had faith—‘Do you know that Salih has been sent by his Lord?’ They said, ‘We indeed believe in what he has been sent with.’
7:76
قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا إِنَّا بِالَّذِي آمَنْتُمْ بِهِ كَافِرُونَ
*Wakasema wale wanao jivuna: Sisi tunayakataa hayo mnayo yaamini.
*Those who were arrogant said, ‘We indeed disbelieve in what you have believed.’
7:77
فَعَقَرُوا النَّاقَةَ وَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ وَقَالُوا يَا صَالِحُ ائْتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
*Na wakamuuwa yule ngamia, na wakaasi amri ya Mola Mlezi wao, na wakasema: Ewe Saleh! Tuletee unayo tuahidi ikiwa wewe ni miongoni mwa Mitume.
*So they hamstrung the She-camel and defied the command of their Lord, and they said, ‘O Salih, bring us what you threaten us with, if you are one of the apostles.’
7:78
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
*Basi tetemeko la ardhi likawanyakua, na kulipo kucha wakawa majumbani mwao kifudifudi wamekwisha kufa.
*Thereupon the earthquake seized them, and they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes.
7:79
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَٰكِنْ لَا تُحِبُّونَ النَّاصِحِينَ
*Basi Saleh akwaacha na akasema: Enyi watu wangu! Nilikufikishieni Ujumbe wa Mola wangu Mlezi, na nikakunasihini, lakini nyinyi hamwapendi wenye nasaha.
*So he abandoned them [to their fate], and said, ‘O my people! Certainly I communicated to you the message of my Lord, and I was your well-wisher, but you did not like well-wishers.’
7:80
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُمْ بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Na tulimtuma Lut´, alipo waambia watu wake: Je, mnafanya uchafu ambao hajakutangulieni yeyote kwa uchafu huo katika viumbe vyote!
*And Lot, when he said to his people, ‘What! Do you commit an outrage none in the world ever committed before you?!
7:81
إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِنْ دُونِ النِّسَاءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنْتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُسْرِفُونَ
*Hivyo nyinyi mnawaingilia wanaume kwa matamanio mkwawacha wanawake? Kumbe nyinyi ni watu wafujaji!
*Indeed you come to men with desire instead of women! Indeed, you are a profligate lot.’
7:82
وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَنْ قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
*Na haikuwa jawabu ya kaumu yake isipo kuwa kuambizana: Wafukuzeni katika mji wenu, maana hao ni watu wanao jitakasa.
*But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Expel them from your town! They are indeed a puritanical lot.’
7:83
فَأَنْجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
*Basi tukamwokoa yeye na watu wake, isipo kuwa mkewe, alikuwa miongoni mwa walio bakia nyuma.
*Thereupon We delivered him and his family, except his wife; she was one of those who remained behind.
7:84
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ مَطَرًا ۖ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
*Na tukawamiminia mvua. Basi tazama jinsi ulivyo kuwa mwisho wa wakosefu.
*Then We poured down upon them a rain [of stones]. So observe how was the fate of the guilty!
7:85
وَإِلَىٰ مَدْيَنَ أَخَاهُمْ شُعَيْبًا ۗ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مَا لَكُمْ مِنْ إِلَٰهٍ غَيْرُهُ ۖ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُمْ بَيِّنَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ فَأَوْفُوا الْكَيْلَ وَالْمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا النَّاسَ أَشْيَاءَهُمْ وَلَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلَاحِهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ
*Na kwa watu wa Madyana tulimtuma ndugu yao Shua´ib. Akasema: Enyi watu wangu! Muabuduni Mwenyezi Mungu. Hamna mungu mwengine isipo kuwa Yeye. Imekwisha kufikieni hoja wazi kutoka kwa Mola Mlezi wenu. Basi timizeni sawasawa vipimo na mizani, wala msiwapunje watu vitu vyao, wala msifanye uharibifu katika nchi, baada ya kuwa imekwisha tengenea. Hivi ndivyo bora kwenu ikiwa nyinyi ni Waumini.
*And to [the people of] Midian [We sent] Shu‘ayb, their brother. He said, ‘O my people, worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. There has certainly come to you a manifest proof from your Lord. Observe fully the measure and the balance, and do not cheat the people of their goods, and do not cause corruption on the earth after its restoration. That is better for you, if you are faithful.
7:86
وَلَا تَقْعُدُوا بِكُلِّ صِرَاطٍ تُوعِدُونَ وَتَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ بِهِ وَتَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجًا ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا إِذْ كُنْتُمْ قَلِيلًا فَكَثَّرَكُمْ ۖ وَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
*Wala msikae katika kila njia mkitisha watu, na kuwazuilia na Njia ya Mwenyezi Mungu wale wenye kumuamini, na mkataka njia ipotoke. Na kumbukeni mlipo kuwa wachache, naye akakufanyeni kuwa wengi. Na tazameni jinsi ulivyo kuwa mwisho wa mafisadi.
*And do not lie in wait on every road to threaten and bar those who have faith in Him from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked. Remember when you were few, and He multiplied you, and observe how was the fate of the agents of corruption.
7:87
وَإِنْ كَانَ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْكُمْ آمَنُوا بِالَّذِي أُرْسِلْتُ بِهِ وَطَائِفَةٌ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّىٰ يَحْكُمَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَنَا ۚ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ الْحَاكِمِينَ
*Na kama liko kundi miongoni mwenu lililo amini haya niliyo tumwa, na kundi jengine halikuamini, basi subirini mpaka Mwenyezi Mungu ahukumu baina yetu. Naye ndiye Mbora wa wenye kuhukumu.
*If a group of you have believed in what I have been sent with, and a group have not believed, be patient until Allah judges between us, and He is the best of judges.’
7:88
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لَنُخْرِجَنَّكَ يَا شُعَيْبُ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مَعَكَ مِنْ قَرْيَتِنَا أَوْ لَتَعُودُنَّ فِي مِلَّتِنَا ۚ قَالَ أَوَلَوْ كُنَّا كَارِهِينَ
*WAHESHIMIWA WALIO TAKABARI katika kaumu yake wakasema: Ewe Shua´ib! Tutakutoa wewe pamoja na wale walio kuamini katika mji wetu, au mrejee katika mila yetu. Akasema: Je, ingawa tunaichukia?
*The elite of his people who were arrogant said, ‘O Shu'ayb, we will surely expel you and the faithful who are with you from our town, or else you shall revert to our creed.’ He said, ‘What! Even if we should be unwilling?!
7:89
قَدِ افْتَرَيْنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا إِنْ عُدْنَا فِي مِلَّتِكُمْ بَعْدَ إِذْ نَجَّانَا اللَّهُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَمَا يَكُونُ لَنَا أَنْ نَعُودَ فِيهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ رَبُّنَا ۚ وَسِعَ رَبُّنَا كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا ۚ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا افْتَحْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ قَوْمِنَا بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْفَاتِحِينَ
*Bila ya shaka itakuwa tumemzulia uwongo Mwenyezi Mungu tukirudi katika mila yenu baada ya kwisha tuokoa nayo Mwenyezi Mungu. Wala haiwi kwetu sisi kuirejea mila hiyo, ila akitaka Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola Mlezi wetu. Ujuzi wa Mola Mlezi wetu umeenea katika kila kitu. Kwa Mwenyezi Mungu tunategemea. Ewe Mola Mlezi wetu! Tuhukumie baina yetu na kaumu yetu kwa haki, nawe ndiye mbora wa wanao hukumu.
*We would be fabricating a lie against Allah should we revert to your creed after Allah had delivered us from it. It does not behoove us to return to it, unless Allah, our Lord, should wish so. Our Lord embraces all things in [His] knowledge. In Allah we have put our trust.’ ‘Our Lord! Judge justly between us and our people, and You are the best of judges!’
7:90
وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ قَوْمِهِ لَئِنِ اتَّبَعْتُمْ شُعَيْبًا إِنَّكُمْ إِذًا لَخَاسِرُونَ
*Na waheshimiwa walio kufuru katika kaumu yake wakasema: Mkimfuata Shua´ib, basi hakika hapo nyinyi mtakuwa mlio khasiri.
*The elite of his people who were faithless said, ‘If you follow Shu'ayb, you will indeed be losers.’
7:91
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُوا فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
*Basi tetemeko la ardhi likawanyakua, na wakaamkia majumbani mwao wamejifudikiza, wamekwisha kufa.
*So the earthquake seized them, and they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes.
7:92
الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا شُعَيْبًا كَأَنْ لَمْ يَغْنَوْا فِيهَا ۚ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا شُعَيْبًا كَانُوا هُمُ الْخَاسِرِينَ
*Wale walio mkanusha Shua´ib wakawa kama kwamba hawakuwako. Walio mkanusha Shua´ib ndio walio kuwa wenye kukhasiri.
*Those who impugned Shu'ayb became as if they had never lived there. Those who impugned Shu‘ayb were themselves the losers.
7:93
فَتَوَلَّىٰ عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ ۖ فَكَيْفَ آسَىٰ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ كَافِرِينَ
*Basi akawaachilia mbali na akasema: Enyi kaumu yangu! Nimekufikishieni Ujumbe wa Mola Mlezi wangu, na nimekunasihini; basi vipi niwahuzunikie watu makafiri?
*So he abandoned them [to their fate] and said, ‘O my people! Certainly, I communicated to you the messages of my Lord, and I was your well-wisher. So how should I grieve for a faithless lot?’
7:94
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِنْ نَبِيٍّ إِلَّا أَخَذْنَا أَهْلَهَا بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَضَّرَّعُونَ
*Na hatukumtuma Nabii yeyote katika mji ila tuliwapatiliza wakaazi wake kwa taabu na mashaka ili wapate kunyenyekea.
*We did not send a prophet to any town without visiting its people with stress and distress so that they might entreat [for Allah’s forgiveness].
7:95
ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّىٰ عَفَوْا وَقَالُوا قَدْ مَسَّ آبَاءَنَا الضَّرَّاءُ وَالسَّرَّاءُ فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
*Kisha Sisi hubadilisha mahala pa ubaya kwa wema, hata wakazidi, na wakasema: Taabu na raha ziliwafikia baba zetu. Basi kwa ghafla tukawashika, hali ya kuwa hawajatambua.
*Then We changed the ill [conditions] to good until they multiplied [in numbers] and said, ‘Adversity and ease befell our fathers [too].’ Then We seized them suddenly while they were unaware.
7:96
وَلَوْ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُرَىٰ آمَنُوا وَاتَّقَوْا لَفَتَحْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ بَرَكَاتٍ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَٰكِنْ كَذَّبُوا فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
*Na lau kuwa watu wa miji wangeli amini na wakamchamngu, kwa yakini tungeli wafungulia baraka kutoka mbinguni na katika ardhi. Lakini walikanusha basi tukawapatiliza kwa sababu ya yale waliyo kuwa wakiyachuma.
*If the people of the towns had been faithful and Godwary, We would have opened to them blessings from the heaven and the earth. But they denied; so We seized them because of what they used to earn.
7:97
أَفَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَىٰ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا بَيَاتًا وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ
*Je, watu wa mijini wameaminisha ya kuwa adhabu yetu haitawafika usiku, nao wamelala?
*Do the people of the towns feel secure from Our punishment overtaking them at night while they are asleep?
7:98
أَوَأَمِنَ أَهْلُ الْقُرَىٰ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُمْ بَأْسُنَا ضُحًى وَهُمْ يَلْعَبُونَ
*Au watu wa mijini wameaminisha ya kuwa adhabu yetu haitawafika mchana, nao wanacheza?
*Do the people of the towns feel secure from Our punishment overtaking them at midday while they are playing around?
7:99
أَفَأَمِنُوا مَكْرَ اللَّهِ ۚ فَلَا يَأْمَنُ مَكْرَ اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْقَوْمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
*Je, wamejiaminisha na mipango ya Mwenyezi Mungu? Kwani hawajiaminishi na mipango ya Mwenyezi Mungu ila watu wenye kukhasiri.
*Do they feel secure from Allah’s devising? No one feels secure from Allah’s devising except the people who are losers.
7:100
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لِلَّذِينَ يَرِثُونَ الْأَرْضَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَهْلِهَا أَنْ لَوْ نَشَاءُ أَصَبْنَاهُمْ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ ۚ وَنَطْبَعُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ
*Je, hawahidiki hawa wanao rithi ardhi baada ya wale wenyewe kwamba tukitaka tutawapatiliza kwa madhambi yao, na tutapiga muhuri juu ya nyoyo zao, na kwa hivyo hawatasikia?
*Does it not dawn upon those who inherited the earth after its [former] inhabitants that if We wish We will punish them for their sins, and set a seal on their hearts so they would not hear?
7:101
تِلْكَ الْقُرَىٰ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنْبَائِهَا ۚ وَلَقَدْ جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُمْ بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِمَا كَذَّبُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يَطْبَعُ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ الْكَافِرِينَ
*Miji hiyo, tunakusimulia baadhi ya khabari zake. Na hapana shaka Mitume wao waliwafikia kwa hoja zilizo waziwazi. Lakini hawakuwa wenye kuamini waliyo yakanusha zamani. Namna hivi Mwenyezi Mungu anazipiga muhuri nyoyo za makafiri.
*These are the towns some of whose accounts We recount to you. Their apostles certainly brought them manifest proofs, but they were not the ones to believe in what they had denied earlier. Thus does Allah put a seal on the hearts of the faithless.
7:102
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لِأَكْثَرِهِمْ مِنْ عَهْدٍ ۖ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَا أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَاسِقِينَ
*Wala hatukuwaona wengi wao kuwa wanatimiza ahadi; bali kwa hakika tuliwakuta wengi wao ni wapotofu.
*We did not find in most of them any [loyalty to] covenants. Indeed, We found most of them to be transgressors.
7:103
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ مُوسَىٰ بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَظَلَمُوا بِهَا ۖ فَانْظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
*Kisha baada yao tukamtuma Musa na Ishara zetu kwa Firauni na waheshimiwa wake. Nao wakazikataa. Basi tazama ulikuwaje mwisho wa waharibifu.
*Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his elite, but they wronged them. So observe how was the fate of the agents of corruption!
7:104
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Na Musa alisema: Ewe Firauni! Hakika mimi ni Mtume nitokaye kwa Mola Mlezi wa viumbe vyote.
*And Moses said, ‘O Pharaoh, I am indeed an apostle from the Lord of all the worlds.
7:105
حَقِيقٌ عَلَىٰ أَنْ لَا أَقُولَ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ ۚ قَدْ جِئْتُكُمْ بِبَيِّنَةٍ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعِيَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
*Inafaa nisiseme juu ya Mwenyezi Mungu ila lilio la Haki. Nami hakika nimekujieni na dalili waziwazi kutokana na Mola Mlezi wenu. Basi waache Wana wa Israili wende nami.
*It behooves me to say nothing about Allah except the truth. I certainly bring you a manifest proof from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me.’
7:106
قَالَ إِنْ كُنْتَ جِئْتَ بِآيَةٍ فَأْتِ بِهَا إِنْ كُنْتَ مِنَ الصَّادِقِينَ
*Akasema Firauni: Ikiwa umekuja na Ishara, basi ilete ukiwa ni katika wasemao kweli.
*He said, ‘If you have brought a sign, produce it, should you be truthful.’
7:107
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ ثُعْبَانٌ مُبِينٌ
*Basi akaitupa fimbo yake, na mara ikawa nyoka dhaahiri.
*Thereat he threw down his staff, and behold, it became a manifest python.
7:108
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُ فَإِذَا هِيَ بَيْضَاءُ لِلنَّاظِرِينَ
*Na akatoa mkono wake, mara ukawa mweupe kwa watazamao.
*Then he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to the onlookers.
7:109
قَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَسَاحِرٌ عَلِيمٌ
*Wakasema waheshimiwa wa kaumu ya Firauni: Hakika huyo ni mchawi mjuzi.
*The elite of Pharaoh’s people said, ‘This is indeed an expert magician;
7:110
يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَكُمْ مِنْ أَرْضِكُمْ ۖ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
*Anataka kukutoeni katika nchi yenu. Basi mnatoa shauri gani?
*he seeks to expel you from your land.’ ‘So what do you advise?’
7:111
قَالُوا أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَأَرْسِلْ فِي الْمَدَائِنِ حَاشِرِينَ
*Wakasema: Mwache kidogo yeye na nduguye, na watume mijini wakusanyao,
*They said, ‘Put him and his brother off for a while, and send heralds to the cities,
7:112
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ
*Wakuletee kila mchawi mjuzi.
*to bring you every expert magician.’
7:113
وَجَاءَ السَّحَرَةُ فِرْعَوْنَ قَالُوا إِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِنْ كُنَّا نَحْنُ الْغَالِبِينَ
*Wakaja wachawi kwa Firauni, wakasema: Hakika tutapata ujira ikiwa tutashinda.
*And the magicians came to Pharaoh. They said, ‘We shall indeed have a reward if we were to be the victors?’
7:114
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ لَمِنَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
*Akasema: Naam! Nanyi bila ya shaka mtakuwa katika wa karibu nami.
*He said, ‘Of course! And indeed you shall be among those near [to me].’
7:115
قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَنْ تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَنْ نَكُونَ نَحْنُ الْمُلْقِينَ
*Wakasema: Ewe Musa! Je, utatupa wewe, au tutakuwa sisi tutao tupa?
*They said, ‘O Moses, will you throw [first], or shall we throw?’
7:116
قَالَ أَلْقُوا ۖ فَلَمَّا أَلْقَوْا سَحَرُوا أَعْيُنَ النَّاسِ وَاسْتَرْهَبُوهُمْ وَجَاءُوا بِسِحْرٍ عَظِيمٍ
*Akasema: Tupeni! Basi walipo tupa waliyazuga macho ya watu na wakawatia khofu, na wakaleta uchawi mkubwa.
*He said, ‘Throw [yours].’ So when they threw, they bewitched the people’s eyes and overawed them, producing a tremendous magic.
7:117
وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
*Nasi tukamfunulia Musa kumwambia: Tupa fimbo yako. Mara ikavimeza vyote vile walivyo vibuni.
*And We signalled to Moses: ‘Throw down your staff.’ And behold, it was swallowing what they had faked.
7:118
فَوَقَعَ الْحَقُّ وَبَطَلَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
*Kweli ikathibiti na yakabat´ilika waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda.
*So the truth came out, and what they had wrought was reduced to naught.
7:119
فَغُلِبُوا هُنَالِكَ وَانْقَلَبُوا صَاغِرِينَ
*Kwa hivyo walishindwa hapo, na wakageuka kuwa wadogo.
*Thereat they were vanquished, and they retreated, humiliated.
7:120
وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ
*Na wachawi wakapoomoka wakisujudu.
*And the magicians fell down in prostration.
7:121
قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
*Wakasema: Tumemuamini Mola Mlezi wa viumbe vyote,
*They said, ‘We have believed in the Lord of all the worlds,
7:122
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ
*Mola Mlezi wa Musa na Haarun.
*the Lord of Moses and Aaron.’
7:123
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ آمَنْتُمْ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَمَكْرٌ مَكَرْتُمُوهُ فِي الْمَدِينَةِ لِتُخْرِجُوا مِنْهَا أَهْلَهَا ۖ فَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ
*Akasema Firauni: Mmemuamini kabla sijakupeni idhini? Hizi ni njama mlizo panga mjini mpate kuwatoa wenyewe. Lakini karibu mtajua!
*Pharaoh said, ‘Do you profess faith in Him before I may permit you? It is indeed a plot you have devised in the city to expel its people from it. Soon you will know [the consequences]!
7:124
لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُمْ مِنْ خِلَافٍ ثُمَّ لَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
*Lazima nitaikata mikono yenu na miguu yenu mbali mbali. Kisha nitakutundikeni misalabani.
*Surely I will cut off your hands and feet on opposite sides, and then I will surely crucify all of you.’
7:125
قَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنْقَلِبُونَ
*Wakasema: Sisi ni wenye kurejea kwa Mola wetu Mlezi.
*They said, ‘Indeed we shall return to our Lord.
7:126
وَمَا تَنْقِمُ مِنَّا إِلَّا أَنْ آمَنَّا بِآيَاتِ رَبِّنَا لَمَّا جَاءَتْنَا ۚ رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
*Nawe hukuudhika nasi ila kwa kuwa tumeziamini Ishara za Mola Mlezi wetu zilipo tujia. Ewe Mola Mlezi wetu! Tumiminie uvumilivu na utufishe hali ni Waislamu.
*You are vindictive toward us only because we have believed in the signs of our Lord, when they came to us.’ ‘Our Lord! Pour patience upon us, and grant us to die as Muslims.’
7:127
وَقَالَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْ قَوْمِ فِرْعَوْنَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَىٰ وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ ۚ قَالَ سَنُقَتِّلُ أَبْنَاءَهُمْ وَنَسْتَحْيِي نِسَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّا فَوْقَهُمْ قَاهِرُونَ
*Wakasema waheshimiwa wa kaumu ya Firauni: Unamuacha Musa na watu wake walete uharibifu katika nchi na wakuache wewe na miungu yako? Akasema: Tutawauwa wavulana wao, na tutawaacha hai wanawake wao. Na bila ya shaka sisi ni wenye nguvu juu yao.
*The elite of Pharaoh’s people said, ‘Will you leave Moses and his people to cause corruption in the land, and to abandon you and your gods?’ He said, ‘We will kill their sons and spare their women, and indeed we are dominant over them.’
7:128
قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوْمِهِ اسْتَعِينُوا بِاللَّهِ وَاصْبِرُوا ۖ إِنَّ الْأَرْضَ لِلَّهِ يُورِثُهَا مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
*Musa akawaambia watu wake: Ombeni msaada kwa Mwenyezi Mungu, na subirini. Hakika ardhi ni ya Mwenyezi Mungu. Naye humrithisha amtakaye katika waja wake. Na mwisho ni wa wachamngu.
*Moses said to his people, ‘Turn to Allah for help and be patient. The earth indeed belongs to Allah, and He gives its inheritance to whomever He wishes of His servants, and the outcome will be in favour of the Godwary.’
7:129
قَالُوا أُوذِينَا مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَأْتِيَنَا وَمِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جِئْتَنَا ۚ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمْ أَنْ يُهْلِكَ عَدُوَّكُمْ وَيَسْتَخْلِفَكُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَيَنْظُرَ كَيْفَ تَعْمَلُونَ
*Wakasema: Tumeudhiwa kabla hujatufikia, na baada ya wewe kutujia! Musa akasema: Huenda Mola wenu Mlezi akamhiliki adui wenu, na akakufanyeni nyinyi ndio wa kufuatia kushika nchi, ili atazame mtavyo kuja tenda nyinyi.
*They said, ‘We were tormented before you came to us and [also] after you came to us.’ He said, ‘Maybe your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, and then He will see how you act.’
7:130
وَلَقَدْ أَخَذْنَا آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ بِالسِّنِينَ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الثَّمَرَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ
*Na hakika tuliwaadhibu watu wa Firauni kwa miyaka (ya ukame) na kwa upungufu wa mazao, ili wapate kukumbuka.
*Certainly We afflicted Pharaoh’s clan with droughts and loss of produce, so that they may take admonition.
7:131
فَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمُ الْحَسَنَةُ قَالُوا لَنَا هَٰذِهِ ۖ وَإِنْ تُصِبْهُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَطَّيَّرُوا بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ ۗ أَلَا إِنَّمَا طَائِرُهُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Likiwafika jema wakisema: Haya ni haki yetu. Na likiwafika ovu husema: Musa na walio pamoja naye ni wakorofi. Hakika ukorofi wao huo unao wafikia unatoka kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Lakini wengi wao hawajui.
*But whenever any good came to them, they would say, ‘This is our due.’ And if any ill visited them, they took it for ill omens attending Moses and those who were with him. (Look! Indeed the cause of their ill omens is from Allah, but most of them do not know.)
7:132
وَقَالُوا مَهْمَا تَأْتِنَا بِهِ مِنْ آيَةٍ لِتَسْحَرَنَا بِهَا فَمَا نَحْنُ لَكَ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ
*Na wakisema: Hata ukituletea Ishara yoyote kutuzuga hatuto kuamini.
*And they said, ‘Whatever sign you may bring us to bewitch us, we are not going to believe you.’
7:133
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ آيَاتٍ مُفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُجْرِمِينَ
*Basi tukawapelekea tufani, na nzige, na chawa, na vyura, na damu, kuwa ni Ishara mbali mbali. Nao wakapanda kiburi, na wakawa watu wakosefu.
*So We sent against them a flood and locusts, lice, frogs and blood, as distinct signs. But they acted arrogantly, and they were a guilty lot.
7:134
وَلَمَّا وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّجْزُ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى ادْعُ لَنَا رَبَّكَ بِمَا عَهِدَ عِنْدَكَ ۖ لَئِنْ كَشَفْتَ عَنَّا الرِّجْزَ لَنُؤْمِنَنَّ لَكَ وَلَنُرْسِلَنَّ مَعَكَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ
*Na ilipo waangukia adhabu wakasema: Ewe Musa! Tuombee kwa Mola wako Mlezi kwa aliyo kuahidi. Ukituondolea adhabu hii hapana shaka tutakuamini, na tutawaachilia Wana wa Israili wende nawe.
*Whenever a plague fell upon them, they would say, ‘O Moses, invoke your Lord for us by the covenant He has made with you. If you remove the plague from us, we will certainly believe in you and let the Children of Israel go along with you.’
7:135
فَلَمَّا كَشَفْنَا عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْزَ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ هُمْ بَالِغُوهُ إِذَا هُمْ يَنْكُثُونَ
*Lakini tukiwaondolea adhabu mpaka muda fulani wao waufikie, mara wakivunja ahadi yao.
*But when We had removed the plague from them until a term that they should have completed, behold, they broke their promise.
7:136
فَانْتَقَمْنَا مِنْهُمْ فَأَغْرَقْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ
*Basi tuliwapatiliza, tuka- wazamisha baharini kwa sababu walizikanusha Ishara zetu, na wakaghafilika nazo.
*So We took vengeance on them and drowned them in the sea, for they denied Our signs and were oblivious to them.
7:137
وَأَوْرَثْنَا الْقَوْمَ الَّذِينَ كَانُوا يُسْتَضْعَفُونَ مَشَارِقَ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبَهَا الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۖ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ الْحُسْنَىٰ عَلَىٰ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا ۖ وَدَمَّرْنَا مَا كَانَ يَصْنَعُ فِرْعَوْنُ وَقَوْمُهُ وَمَا كَانُوا يَعْرِشُونَ
*Na tukawarithisha watu walio kuwa wanadharauliwa mashariki na magharibi ya ardhi tuliyo ibariki. Na likatimia neno jema la Mola Mlezi wako juu ya Wana wa Israili, kwa vile walivyo subiri. Na tukayaangamiza aliyo kuwa akiyafanya Firauni na kaumu yake, na waliyo kuwa wakiyajenga.
*We made the people who were abased the heirs to the east and west of the land which We had blessed, and your Lord’s best word [of promise] was fulfilled for the Children of Israel because of their patience, and We destroyed what Pharaoh and his people had built and what they used to erect.
7:138
وَجَاوَزْنَا بِبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ الْبَحْرَ فَأَتَوْا عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ يَعْكُفُونَ عَلَىٰ أَصْنَامٍ لَهُمْ ۚ قَالُوا يَا مُوسَى اجْعَلْ لَنَا إِلَٰهًا كَمَا لَهُمْ آلِهَةٌ ۚ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ قَوْمٌ تَجْهَلُونَ
*Na tukawavusha bahari Wana wa Israili, wakafika kwa watu wanao abudu masanamu yao. Wakasema: Ewe Musa! Hebu tufanyie na sisi miungu kama hawa walivyo kuwa na miungu. Musa akasema: Hakika nyinyi ni watu msio jua kitu.
*We carried the Children of Israel across the sea, whereat they came upon a people cleaving to certain idols that they had. They said, ‘O Moses, make for us a god like the gods that they have.’ He said, ‘You are indeed an ignorant lot.
7:139
إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ مُتَبَّرٌ مَا هُمْ فِيهِ وَبَاطِلٌ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
*Hakika haya waliyo nayo watu hawa yatakuja angamia, na hayo waliyo kuwa wakiyafanya yamepotea bure.
*What they are engaged in is indeed bound to perish, and what they have been doing shall come to naught.’
7:140
قَالَ أَغَيْرَ اللَّهِ أَبْغِيكُمْ إِلَٰهًا وَهُوَ فَضَّلَكُمْ عَلَى الْعَالَمِينَ
*Akasema: Je, nikutafutieni mungu asiye kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu, na Yeye ndiye aliye kufadhilisheni juu ya viumbe vyote?
*He said, ‘Shall I find you a god other than Allah, while He has graced you over all the nations?’
7:141
وَإِذْ أَنْجَيْنَاكُمْ مِنْ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ يَسُومُونَكُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۖ يُقَتِّلُونَ أَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَيَسْتَحْيُونَ نِسَاءَكُمْ ۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُمْ بَلَاءٌ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ عَظِيمٌ
*Na pale tulipo kuokoeni kwa watu wa Firauni walio kupeni adhabu za mwisho wa uovu. Wakiwauwa wavulana wenu, na wakawaacha hai wanawake wenu. Na katika hayo yalikuwa majaribio makubwa kutokana na Mola wenu Mlezi.
*And when We delivered you from Pharaoh’s clan who inflicted on you a terrible torment, slaughtering your sons and sparing your women, and there was a great test in that from your Lord.
7:142
وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوسَىٰ ثَلَاثِينَ لَيْلَةً وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ فَتَمَّ مِيقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً ۚ وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَخِيهِ هَارُونَ اخْلُفْنِي فِي قَوْمِي وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيلَ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
*Tulimuahidi Musa masiku thalathini na tukayatimiza kwa kumi; ikatimia miadi ya Mola wake Mlezi masiku arubaini. Na Musa akamwambia nduguye Haarun: Shika mahala pangu kwa watu wangu na utengeneze wala usifuate njia ya waharibifu.
*We made an appointment with Moses for thirty nights, and completed them with ten [more]; thus the tryst of his Lord was completed in forty nights. And Moses said to Aaron, his brother, ‘Be my successor among my people, and set things right and do not follow the way of the agents of corruption.’
7:143
وَلَمَّا جَاءَ مُوسَىٰ لِمِيقَاتِنَا وَكَلَّمَهُ رَبُّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ أَرِنِي أَنْظُرْ إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ لَنْ تَرَانِي وَلَٰكِنِ انْظُرْ إِلَى الْجَبَلِ فَإِنِ اسْتَقَرَّ مَكَانَهُ فَسَوْفَ تَرَانِي ۚ فَلَمَّا تَجَلَّىٰ رَبُّهُ لِلْجَبَلِ جَعَلَهُ دَكًّا وَخَرَّ مُوسَىٰ صَعِقًا ۚ فَلَمَّا أَفَاقَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
*Na alipo kuja Musa kwenye miadi yetu, na Mola wake Mlezi akamsemeza, alisema: Mola wangu Mlezi! Nionyeshe nikutazame. Mwenyezi Mungu akasema: Hutoniona. Lakini utazame huo mlima. Ukibaki pahala pake basi utaniona. Basi alipo jionyesha Mola Mlezi wake kwa mlima, aliufanya uvurugike, na Musa akaanguka chini amezimia. Alipo zindukana alisema: Subhanaka, Umetakasika! Natubu kwako, na mimi ni wa kwanza wa Waumini.
*When Moses arrived at Our tryst and his Lord spoke to him, he said, ‘My Lord, show [Yourself] to me, that I may look at You!’ He said, ‘You shall not see Me. But look at the mountain: if it abides in its place, then you will see Me.’ So when his Lord disclosed Himself to the mountain, He levelled it, and Moses fell down swooning. When he recovered, he said, ‘Immaculate are You! I turn to You in penitence, and I am the first of the faithful.’
7:144
قَالَ يَا مُوسَىٰ إِنِّي اصْطَفَيْتُكَ عَلَى النَّاسِ بِرِسَالَاتِي وَبِكَلَامِي فَخُذْ مَا آتَيْتُكَ وَكُنْ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
*(Mwenyezi Mungu) akasema: Ewe Musa! Mimi nimekuteuwa wende kwa watu na Ujumbe wangu na maneno yangu. Basi chukua niliyo kupa na uwe katika wanao shukuru.
*He said, ‘O Moses, I have chosen you over the people with My messages and My speech. So take what I give you, and be among the grateful.’
7:145
وَكَتَبْنَا لَهُ فِي الْأَلْوَاحِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ مَوْعِظَةً وَتَفْصِيلًا لِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ فَخُذْهَا بِقُوَّةٍ وَأْمُرْ قَوْمَكَ يَأْخُذُوا بِأَحْسَنِهَا ۚ سَأُرِيكُمْ دَارَ الْفَاسِقِينَ
*Na tukamuandikia katika mbao kila kitu, mawaidha na maelezo ya mambo yote. (Tukamwambia): Basi yashike kwa nguvu na uwaamrishe watu wako wayashike kwa ubora wake. Nami nitakuonyesheni makaazi ya wapotofu.
*We wrote for him in the tablets advice concerning all things and an elaboration of all things, [and We said], ‘Hold on to them with power, and bid your people to hold on to the best of [what is in] them. Soon I shall show you the abode of the transgressors.
7:146
سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الْحَقِّ وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كُلَّ آيَةٍ لَا يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا وَإِنْ يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الرُّشْدِ لَا يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا وَإِنْ يَرَوْا سَبِيلَ الْغَيِّ يَتَّخِذُوهُ سَبِيلًا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَكَانُوا عَنْهَا غَافِلِينَ
*Nitawatenga na Ishara zangu wale wanao fanya kiburi katika nchi bila ya haki. Na wao wakiona kila Ishara hawaiamini. Wakiiona njia ya uwongofu hawaishiki kuwa ndiyo njia; lakini wakiiona njia ya upotofu wanaishika kuwa ndiyo njia. Hayo ni kwa sababu wamezikanusha Ishara zetu, na wameghafilika nazo.
*Soon I shall turn away from My signs those who are unduly arrogant in the earth: [even] though they should see every sign, they will not believe in it, and if they see the way of rectitude they will not take it as [their] way, and if they see the way of error they will take it as [their] way. That is because they deny Our signs and are oblivious to them.’
7:147
وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَلِقَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ ۚ هَلْ يُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
*Na walio zikanusha Ishara zetu na mkutano wa Akhera a´mali zao zimeharibika. Kwani watalipwa ila kwa yale waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda?
*Those who deny Our signs and the encounter of the Hereafter, their works have failed. Shall they not be requited for what they used to do?
7:148
وَاتَّخَذَ قَوْمُ مُوسَىٰ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ حُلِيِّهِمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَهُ خُوَارٌ ۚ أَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّهُ لَا يُكَلِّمُهُمْ وَلَا يَهْدِيهِمْ سَبِيلًا ۘ اتَّخَذُوهُ وَكَانُوا ظَالِمِينَ
*Na baada yake walimfanya ndama kutokana na mapambo yao (kumuabudu), kiwiliwili tu kilicho kuwa na sauti. Hivyo, hawakuona kuwa hawasemezi wala hawaongoi njia? Wakamuabudu, na wakawa wenye kudhulumu.
*The people of Moses took up in his absence a calf [cast] from their ornaments—a body that gave out a lowing sound. Did they not regard that it did not speak to them, nor did it guide them to any way? They took it up [for worship] and they were wrongdoers.
7:149
وَلَمَّا سُقِطَ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ وَرَأَوْا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ ضَلُّوا قَالُوا لَئِنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْنَا رَبُّنَا وَيَغْفِرْ لَنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
*Na walipo juta na wakaona ya kwamba wamekwisha potea, walisema: Ikiwa Mola wetu Mlezi hakuturehemu na akatusamehe, bila ya shaka tutakuwa miongoni mwa walio khasiri.
*But when they became remorseful and realised they had gone astray, they said, ‘Should our Lord have no mercy on us, and forgive us, we will be surely among the losers.’
7:150
وَلَمَّا رَجَعَ مُوسَىٰ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا قَالَ بِئْسَمَا خَلَفْتُمُونِي مِنْ بَعْدِي ۖ أَعَجِلْتُمْ أَمْرَ رَبِّكُمْ ۖ وَأَلْقَى الْأَلْوَاحَ وَأَخَذَ بِرَأْسِ أَخِيهِ يَجُرُّهُ إِلَيْهِ ۚ قَالَ ابْنَ أُمَّ إِنَّ الْقَوْمَ اسْتَضْعَفُونِي وَكَادُوا يَقْتُلُونَنِي فَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِيَ الْأَعْدَاءَ وَلَا تَجْعَلْنِي مَعَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
*Na alipo rudi Musa kwa watu wake, naye amekasirika na kuhuzunika, alisema: Ni maovu yalioje mlio nifanyia nyuma yangu! Je, mmeitangulia amri ya Mola wenu Mlezi? Na akaziweka chini zile mbao, na akamkamata kichwa ndugu yake akimvutia kwake. (Haarun) akasema: Ewe mwana wa mama yangu! Hakika hawa watu wamenidharau, na wakakaribia kuniuwa. Basi usiwafurahishe maadui juu yangu, wala usinifanye pamoja na watu madhaalimu.
*When Moses returned to his people, angry and indignant, he said, ‘Evil has been your conduct in my absence! Would you hasten on the edict of your Lord?’ He threw down the tablets and seized his brother by the head, pulling him towards himself. He said, ‘Son of my mother, indeed this people thought me to be weak, and they were about to kill me. So do not let the enemies gloat over me, and do not take me with the wrongdoing lot.’
7:151
قَالَ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ ۖ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
*(Musa) akasema: Mola Mlezi wangu! Nisamehe mimi na ndugu yangu, na ututie katika rehema yako. Nawe ni Mwenye kurehemu kushinda wote wenye kurehemu.
*He said, ‘My Lord, forgive me and my brother, and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful.
7:152
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا الْعِجْلَ سَيَنَالُهُمْ غَضَبٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَذِلَّةٌ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُفْتَرِينَ
*Hakika wale walio muabudu ndama, itawapata ghadhabu ya Mola wao Mlezi na madhila katika maisha ya dunia. Na hivi ndivyo tunavyo walipa wazushi.
*Indeed those who took up the calf [for worship] shall be overtaken by their Lord’s wrath and abasement in the life of the world.’ Thus do We requite the fabricators [of lies].
7:153
وَالَّذِينَ عَمِلُوا السَّيِّئَاتِ ثُمَّ تَابُوا مِنْ بَعْدِهَا وَآمَنُوا إِنَّ رَبَّكَ مِنْ بَعْدِهَا لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
*Na walio tenda maovu, kisha wakatubia baada yake na wakaamini, hapana shaka kuwa Mola Mlezi wako baada ya hayo ni Mwenye kusamehe Mwenye kurehemu.
*Yet [to] those who commit misdeeds but repent after that, and believe—indeed, after that, your Lord shall surely be all-forgiving, all-merciful.
7:154
وَلَمَّا سَكَتَ عَنْ مُوسَى الْغَضَبُ أَخَذَ الْأَلْوَاحَ ۖ وَفِي نُسْخَتِهَا هُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِلَّذِينَ هُمْ لِرَبِّهِمْ يَرْهَبُونَ
*Na Musa ilipo mtulia ghadhabu aliziokota zile mbao. Na katika maandiko yake mna uwongofu na rehema kwa wanao mwogopa Mola wao Mlezi.
*When Moses’ indignation abated, he picked up the tablets whose inscriptions contained guidance and mercy for those who are in awe of their Lord.
7:155
وَاخْتَارَ مُوسَىٰ قَوْمَهُ سَبْعِينَ رَجُلًا لِمِيقَاتِنَا ۖ فَلَمَّا أَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوْ شِئْتَ أَهْلَكْتَهُمْ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَإِيَّايَ ۖ أَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَهَاءُ مِنَّا ۖ إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا فِتْنَتُكَ تُضِلُّ بِهَا مَنْ تَشَاءُ وَتَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ ۖ أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ۖ وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ
*Na Musa akawateuwa watu sabiini katika kaumu yake kwa miadi yetu. Na ulipo fika mtetemeko mkubwa alisema: Ewe Mola wangu Mlezi! Ungeli taka ungeli wahiliki wao na mimi zamani! Unatuhiliki kwa waliyo yafanya wajinga katika sisi? Haya si chochote ila ni mtihani wako, umpoteze umtakaye na umhidi umtakaye. Wewe ndiye Rafiki Mlinzi wetu. Basi tughufirie na uturehemu. Na Wewe ndiye mbora wa kughufiria.
*Moses chose seventy men from his people for Our tryst, and when the earthquake seized them, he said, ‘My Lord, had You wished, You would have destroyed them and me before. Will You destroy us because of what the fools amongst us have done? It is only Your test, by which You lead astray whomever You wish and guide whomever You wish. You are our master, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of those who forgive.
7:156
وَاكْتُبْ لَنَا فِي هَٰذِهِ الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدْنَا إِلَيْكَ ۚ قَالَ عَذَابِي أُصِيبُ بِهِ مَنْ أَشَاءُ ۖ وَرَحْمَتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ ۚ فَسَأَكْتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَالَّذِينَ هُمْ بِآيَاتِنَا يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Na utuandikie mema katika dunia hii na katika Akhera. Sisi tumerejea kwako. (Mwenyezi Mungu) akasema: Adhabu yangu nitamsibu nayo nimtakaye. Na rehema yangu imeenea kila kitu. Lakini nitawaandikia khasa wanao mchamngu, na wanao toa Zaka, na wale ambao wanaziamini Ishara zetu,
*And appoint goodness for us in this world and the Hereafter, for indeed we have come back to You.’ Said He, ‘I visit My punishment on whomever I wish, but My mercy embraces all things. Soon I shall appoint it for those who are Godwary and give the zakat and those who believe in Our signs
7:157
الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الْأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالْإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَيُحِلُّ لَهُمُ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَيُحَرِّمُ عَلَيْهِمُ الْخَبَائِثَ وَيَضَعُ عَنْهُمْ إِصْرَهُمْ وَالْأَغْلَالَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ فَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا بِهِ وَعَزَّرُوهُ وَنَصَرُوهُ وَاتَّبَعُوا النُّورَ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَ مَعَهُ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ
*Ambao kwamba wanamfuata huyo Mtume, Nabii, asiye soma wala kuandika, wanaye mkuta kaandikwa kwao katika Taurati na Injili, anaye waamrisha mema na anawakanya maovu, na anawahalalishia vizuri, na ana waharimishia viovu, na anawaondolea mizigo yao na minyororo iliyo kuwa juu yao. Basi wale walio muamini yeye, na wakamhishimu, na wakamsaidia, na wakaifuata nuru iliyo teremshwa pamoja naye - hao ndio wenye kufanikiwa.
*—those who follow the Apostle, the untaught prophet, whose mention they find written with them in the Torah and the Evangel, who bids them to do what is right and forbids them from what is wrong, makes lawful to them all the good things and forbids them from all vicious things, and relieves them of their burdens and the shackles that were upon them—those who believe in him, honour him, and help him and follow the light that has been sent down with him, they are the felicitous.’
7:158
قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ۖ فَآمِنُوا بِاللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ الَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَكَلِمَاتِهِ وَاتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ
*Sema: Enyi watu! Hakika mimi ni Mtume kwenu nyinyi nyote, niliye tumwa na Mwenyezi Mungu Mwenye ufalme wa mbingu na ardhi. Hapana mungu ila Yeye anaye huisha na anaye fisha. Basi muaminini Mwenyezi Mungu na Mtume wake asiyejua kusoma na kuandika, ambaye anamuamini Mwenyezi Mungu na maneno yake. Na mfuateni yeye ili mpate kuongoka.
*Say, ‘O mankind! I am the Apostle of Allah to you all, [of Him] to whom belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. There is no god except Him. He gives life and brings death.’ So have faith in Allah and His Apostle, the untaught prophet, who has faith in Allah and His words, and follow him so that you may be guided.
7:159
وَمِنْ قَوْمِ مُوسَىٰ أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُونَ
*Na katika kaumu ya Musa lipo kundi linao waongoa watu kwa haki na kwa haki wanafanya uadilifu.
*Among the people of Moses is a nation who guide [the people] by the truth and do justice thereby.
7:160
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمُ اثْنَتَيْ عَشْرَةَ أَسْبَاطًا أُمَمًا ۚ وَأَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ إِذِ اسْتَسْقَاهُ قَوْمُهُ أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصَاكَ الْحَجَرَ ۖ فَانْبَجَسَتْ مِنْهُ اثْنَتَا عَشْرَةَ عَيْنًا ۖ قَدْ عَلِمَ كُلُّ أُنَاسٍ مَشْرَبَهُمْ ۚ وَظَلَّلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْغَمَامَ وَأَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ ۖ كُلُوا مِنْ طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ ۚ وَمَا ظَلَمُونَا وَلَٰكِنْ كَانُوا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ
*Na tuliwagawanya katika makabila kumi na mbili, mataifa mbali mbali. Na tulimfunulia Musa walipo muomba maji watu wake kumwambia: Lipige hilo jiwe kwa fimbo yako. Mara zikatibuka humo chemchem kumi na mbili, na kila watu wakajua mahali pao pa kunywea. Na tukawafunika kivuli kwa mawingu, na tukawateremshia Manna na Salwa. Tukawaambia: Kuleni vizuri hivi tulivyo kuruzukuni. Wala hawakutu- dhulumu Sisi, bali wamejidhulumu wenyewe.
*We split them up into twelve tribal communities, and We revealed to Moses, when his people asked him for water, [saying], ‘Strike the rock with your staff,’ whereat twelve fountains gushed forth from it. Every tribe came to know its drinking-place. And We shaded them with clouds, and We sent down to them manna and quails: ‘Eat of the good things We have provided you.’ And they did not wrong Us, but they used to wrong [only] themselves.
7:161
وَإِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمُ اسْكُنُوا هَٰذِهِ الْقَرْيَةَ وَكُلُوا مِنْهَا حَيْثُ شِئْتُمْ وَقُولُوا حِطَّةٌ وَادْخُلُوا الْبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ خَطِيئَاتِكُمْ ۚ سَنَزِيدُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ
*Na pale walipo ambiwa: Kaeni katika mji huu, na mle humo mpendapo, na semeni: Tufutie dhambi zetu. Na ingieni katika mlango wake kwa unyenyekevu, tupate kukusameheni makosa yenu. Walio wema tutawazidishia.
*And when they were told, ‘Settle in this town and eat thereof whence you wish; and say, ‘‘Relieve [us of the burden of our sins],’’ and enter prostrating at the gate, that We may forgive your iniquities, and soon We shall enhance the virtuous.’
7:162
فَبَدَّلَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مِنْهُمْ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِجْزًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ
*Lakini walio dhulumu miongoni mwao walibadilisha kauli, sio ile waliyo ambiwa. Basi tukawapelekea adhabu kutoka mbinguni kwa vile walivyo kuwa wakidhulumu.
*But the wrongdoers changed the saying with other than what they had been told. So We sent against them a plague from the sky because of the wrongs they used to commit.
7:163
وَاسْأَلْهُمْ عَنِ الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي كَانَتْ حَاضِرَةَ الْبَحْرِ إِذْ يَعْدُونَ فِي السَّبْتِ إِذْ تَأْتِيهِمْ حِيتَانُهُمْ يَوْمَ سَبْتِهِمْ شُرَّعًا وَيَوْمَ لَا يَسْبِتُونَ ۙ لَا تَأْتِيهِمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَبْلُوهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
*Na waulize khabari za mji ulio kuwa kando ya bahari, wakiivunja Sabato (Jumaamosi ya mapumziko). Samaki walikuwa wakiwajia juu juu siku ya mapumziko yao, na siku zisio kuwa za kupumzika hawakuwa wakiwajia. Kwa namna hiyo tuliwajaribu kwa sababu walikuwa wakifanya upotovu.
*Ask them about the town that was situated on the seaside, when they violated the Sabbath, when their fish would come to them on the Sabbath day, visibly on the shore, but on days when they were not keeping Sabbath they would not come to them. Thus did We test them because of the transgressions they used to commit.
7:164
وَإِذْ قَالَتْ أُمَّةٌ مِنْهُمْ لِمَ تَعِظُونَ قَوْمًا ۙ اللَّهُ مُهْلِكُهُمْ أَوْ مُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَابًا شَدِيدًا ۖ قَالُوا مَعْذِرَةً إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ
*Na kikundi kati yao walisema: Kwa nini mnawawaidhi watu ambao tangu hapo Mwenyezi Mungu atawateketeza au atawaadhibu adhabu kali? Wakasema: Ili uwe ni udhuru kwa Mola Mlezi wenu, na huenda nao wakamchamngu.
*When a group of them said, ‘Why do you advise a people whom Allah will destroy, or punish with a severe punishment?’ They said, ‘As an excuse before your Lord, and [with the hope] that they may be Godwary.’
7:165
فَلَمَّا نَسُوا مَا ذُكِّرُوا بِهِ أَنْجَيْنَا الَّذِينَ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ السُّوءِ وَأَخَذْنَا الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا بِعَذَابٍ بَئِيسٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَفْسُقُونَ
*Basi walipo yasahau waliyo kumbushwa, tuliwaokoa walio kuwa wakikataza maovu, na tukawatesa walio dhulumu kwa adhabu mbaya kwa vile walivyo kuwa wakifanya upotovu.
*So when they forgot what they had been reminded of, We delivered those who forbade evil [conduct] and seized the wrongdoers with a terrible punishment because of the transgressions they used to commit.
7:166
فَلَمَّا عَتَوْا عَنْ مَا نُهُوا عَنْهُ قُلْنَا لَهُمْ كُونُوا قِرَدَةً خَاسِئِينَ
*Walipo jifakharisha katika waliyo kanywa tuliwaambia: Kuweni manyani wa kudharauliwa.
*When they defied [the command pertaining to] what they were forbidden from, We said to them, ‘Be you spurned apes.’
7:167
وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكَ لَيَبْعَثَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ مَنْ يَسُومُهُمْ سُوءَ الْعَذَابِ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَسَرِيعُ الْعِقَابِ ۖ وَإِنَّهُ لَغَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
*Na pale alipo tangaza Mola wako Mlezi kwamba hapana shaka atawaletea watu ambao watawaadhibu kwa adhabu mbaya mpaka Siku ya Kiyama. Hakika Mola wako Mlezi ni Mwepesi wa kuadhibu, na bila ya shaka ni Mwenye maghfira, na Mwenye kurehemu.
*And when your Lord proclaimed that He would surely send against them, until the Day of Resurrection, those who would inflict on them a terrible punishment. Indeed your Lord is swift in retribution, and indeed, He is all-forgiving, all-merciful.
7:168
وَقَطَّعْنَاهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ أُمَمًا ۖ مِنْهُمُ الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنْهُمْ دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَبَلَوْنَاهُمْ بِالْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
*Na tuliwafarikisha katika ardhi makundi makundi. Wako kati yao walio wema, na wengine kinyume cha hivyo. Na tukawajaribu kwa mema na mabaya ili wapate kurejea.
*We dispersed them into communities around the earth: some of them were righteous, and some of them otherwise, and We tested them with good and bad [times] so that they may come back.
7:169
فَخَلَفَ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ وَرِثُوا الْكِتَابَ يَأْخُذُونَ عَرَضَ هَٰذَا الْأَدْنَىٰ وَيَقُولُونَ سَيُغْفَرُ لَنَا وَإِنْ يَأْتِهِمْ عَرَضٌ مِثْلُهُ يَأْخُذُوهُ ۚ أَلَمْ يُؤْخَذْ عَلَيْهِمْ مِيثَاقُ الْكِتَابِ أَنْ لَا يَقُولُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ إِلَّا الْحَقَّ وَدَرَسُوا مَا فِيهِ ۗ وَالدَّارُ الْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ
*Na wakafuatia baada yao kizazi kibaya walio rithi Kitabu. Wakashika anasa za haya maisha duni, na wakasema: Tutasamehewa! Na ikiwajia tena anasa kama hiyo wataishika pia. Je, hawakufanyiwa agano la Kitabu kuwa wasiseme juu ya Mwenyezi Mungu ila Haki tu? Nao wamekwisha soma yaliomo humo. Na nyumba ya Akhera ni bora kwa wanao jikinga na maasi. Basi je, hamtii akilini?
*Then they were succeeded by an evil posterity, which inherited the Book: they grab the transitory gains of this lower world, and say, ‘It will be forgiven us.’ And if similar transitory gains were to come their way, they would grab them too. Was not the covenant of the Book taken with them that they shall not attribute anything to Allah except the truth? They have studied what is in it, and [know that] the abode of the Hereafter is better for those who are Godwary. Do you not exercise your reason?
7:170
وَالَّذِينَ يُمَسِّكُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ إِنَّا لَا نُضِيعُ أَجْرَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ
*Na wale wanao kishikilia Kitabu, na wakashika Sala - hakika Sisi hatupotezi ujira wa watendao mema.
*As for those who hold fast to the Book and maintain the prayer—indeed, We do not waste the reward of those who bring about reform.
7:171
وَإِذْ نَتَقْنَا الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَهُمْ كَأَنَّهُ ظُلَّةٌ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُ وَاقِعٌ بِهِمْ خُذُوا مَا آتَيْنَاكُمْ بِقُوَّةٍ وَاذْكُرُوا مَا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
*Na pale tulipo unyanyua mlima juu yao ukawa kama kwamba ni kiwingu kilicho wafunika, na wakadhani kuwa utawaangukia, (tukawaambia): Kamateni kwa nguvu tuliyo kupeni, na yakumbukeni yaliyomo ndani yake ili mpate kumcha Mungu.
*When We plucked the mountain [and held it] above them as if it were a canopy (and they thought it was about to fall on them): ‘Hold on with power to what We have given you and remember that which is in it, so that you may be Godwary.’
7:172
وَإِذْ أَخَذَ رَبُّكَ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ مِنْ ظُهُورِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَأَشْهَدَهُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِهِمْ أَلَسْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ ۖ قَالُوا بَلَىٰ ۛ شَهِدْنَا ۛ أَنْ تَقُولُوا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ إِنَّا كُنَّا عَنْ هَٰذَا غَافِلِينَ
*Na pale Mola wako Mlezi alipo waleta katika wanaadamu kutoka migongoni mwao kizazi chao, na akawashuhudisha juu ya nafsi zao, akawaambia: Je, Mimi si Mola Mlezi wenu? Wakasema: Kwani! Tumeshuhudia. Msije mkasema Siku ya Kiyama sisi tulikuwa tumeghafilika na hayo.
*When your Lord took from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their descendants and made them bear witness over themselves, [He said to them,] ‘Am I not your Lord?’ They said, ‘Yes indeed! We bear witness.’ [This,] lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection, ‘Indeed we were unaware of this,’
7:173
أَوْ تَقُولُوا إِنَّمَا أَشْرَكَ آبَاؤُنَا مِنْ قَبْلُ وَكُنَّا ذُرِّيَّةً مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ ۖ أَفَتُهْلِكُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ الْمُبْطِلُونَ
*Au mkasema: Hakika baba zetu ndio walio shirikisha kabla yetu, na sisi ni dhuriya zao tu baada yao. Basi utatuangamiza kwa sababu ya waliyo yafanya wapotovu?
*or lest you should say, ‘Our fathers ascribed partners [to Allah] before [us] and we were descendants after them. Will You then destroy us because of what the falsifiers have done?’
7:174
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ وَلَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ
*Ndio kama hivyo tunavyo zipambanua Ishara, kwa kutaraji kuwa watarejea.
*Thus do We elaborate the signs, so that they may come back.
7:175
وَاتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ الَّذِي آتَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا فَانْسَلَخَ مِنْهَا فَأَتْبَعَهُ الشَّيْطَانُ فَكَانَ مِنَ الْغَاوِينَ
*Na wasomee khabari za yule ambaye tulimpa Ishara zetu, naye akajivua nazo. Na Shet´ani akamuandama, akawa miongoni walio potea.
*Relate to them an account of him to whom We gave Our signs, but he cast them off. Thereupon Satan pursued him, and he became one of the perverse.
7:176
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَرَفَعْنَاهُ بِهَا وَلَٰكِنَّهُ أَخْلَدَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ ۚ فَمَثَلُهُ كَمَثَلِ الْكَلْبِ إِنْ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْهِ يَلْهَثْ أَوْ تَتْرُكْهُ يَلْهَثْ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مَثَلُ الْقَوْمِ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا ۚ فَاقْصُصِ الْقَصَصَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ
*Na tungelitaka tungeli mtukuza kwa hizo Ishara, lakini yeye aliushikilia ulimwengu na akafuata pumbao lake. Basi mfano wake ni mfano wa mbwa. Ukimhujumu hupumua na kutoa ulimi na ukimwacha pia hupumua na kutoa ulimi. Huo ni mfano wa kaumu wanao zikanusha Ishara zetu. Basi simulia hadithi, huenda wakatafakari.
*Had We wished, We would have surely raised him by their means, but he clung to the earth and followed his [base] desires. So his parable is that of a dog: if you make for it, it lolls out its tongue, and if you let it alone, it lolls out its tongue. Such is the parable of the people who deny Our signs. So recount these narratives, so that they may reflect.
7:177
سَاءَ مَثَلًا الْقَوْمُ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَأَنْفُسَهُمْ كَانُوا يَظْلِمُونَ
*Huu ni mfano muovu kabisa wa watu wanao kanusha Ishara zetu na wakajidhulumu nafsi zao.
*Evil is the parable of the people who deny Our signs and wrong themselves.
7:178
مَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَهُوَ الْمُهْتَدِي ۖ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ
*Yule ambaye Mwenyezi Mungu amemhidi basi huyo amehidika; na alio waacha kupotea basi hao ndio walio khasirika.
*Whomever Allah guides is rightly guided, and whomever He leads astray—it is they who are the losers.
7:179
وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنْسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لَا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ كَالْأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ
*Na tumeiumbia Jahannamu majini wengi na watu. Wana nyoyo, lakini hawafahamu kwazo. Na wana macho, lakini hawaoni kwayo. Na wana masikio, lakini hawasikii kwayo. Hao ni kama nyama howa, bali wao ni wapotofu zaidi. Hao ndio walio ghafilika.
*Certainly We have winnowed out for hell many of the jinn and humans: they have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, they have ears with which they do not hear. They are like cattle; indeed, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.
7:180
وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا ۖ وَذَرُوا الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَائِهِ ۚ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ
*Na Mwenyezi Mungu ana majina mazuri kabisa, basi muombeni kwa hayo. Na waacheni wale wanao haribu utakatifu wa majina yake. Hao watakuja lipwa waliyo kuwa wakiyatenda.
*To Allah belong the Best Names, so supplicate Him by them, and abandon those who commit sacrilege in His names. Soon they shall be requited for what they used to do.
7:181
وَمِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا أُمَّةٌ يَهْدُونَ بِالْحَقِّ وَبِهِ يَعْدِلُونَ
*Na katika tulio waumba wako watu wanao ongoza kwa Haki, na kwayo wanafanya uadilifu.
*Among those We have created are a nation who guide by the truth and do justice thereby.
7:182
وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Na wale walio kadhibisha Ishara zetu, tutawapururia pole pole kwa namna ambayo wenyewe hawaijui.
*As for those who deny Our signs, We will draw them imperceptibly [into ruin], whence they do not know.
7:183
وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ
*Nami nitawapa muda. Hakika mpango wangu ni madhubuti.
*And I will grant them respite, for My devising is indeed sure.
7:184
أَوَلَمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوا ۗ مَا بِصَاحِبِهِمْ مِنْ جِنَّةٍ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ مُبِينٌ
*Je, hawafikiri? Huyu mwenzao hana wazimu. Hakuwa yeye ila ni mwonyaji aliye dhaahiri.
*Have they not reflected that there is no madness in their companion, [and that] he is just a manifest warner?
7:185
أَوَلَمْ يَنْظُرُوا فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ وَأَنْ عَسَىٰ أَنْ يَكُونَ قَدِ اقْتَرَبَ أَجَلُهُمْ ۖ فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Je, hawatazami ufalme wa mbingu na ardhi, na vitu alivyo viumba Mwenyezi Mungu, na pengine ajali yao imekwisha karibia? Basi maneno gani baada ya haya watayaamini?
*Have they not contemplated the dominions of the heavens and the earth, and whatever things Allah has created, and that maybe their time has already drawn near? So what discourse will they believe after this?!
7:186
مَنْ يُضْلِلِ اللَّهُ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ ۚ وَيَذَرُهُمْ فِي طُغْيَانِهِمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
*Aliye mwacha Mwenyezi Mungu kupotea hana wa kumwongoa. Atawaacha hao wakitangatanga katika upotofu wao.
*Whomever Allah leads astray has no guide, and He leaves them bewildered in their rebellion.
7:187
يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ أَيَّانَ مُرْسَاهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ رَبِّي ۖ لَا يُجَلِّيهَا لِوَقْتِهَا إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ ثَقُلَتْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ لَا تَأْتِيكُمْ إِلَّا بَغْتَةً ۗ يَسْأَلُونَكَ كَأَنَّكَ حَفِيٌّ عَنْهَا ۖ قُلْ إِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Wanakuuliza hiyo Saa (ya mwisho) itakuwa lini? Sema: Kuijua kwake kuko kwa Mola Mlezi wangu. Haidhihirishi hiyo kwa wakati wake ila Yeye. Ni nzito katika mbingu na ardhi. Haikujiini ila kwa ghafla tu. Wanakuuliza kama kwamba wewe una pupa ya kuijua. Sema: Ujuzi wake uko kwa Mwenyezi Mungu. Lakini aghlabu ya watu hawajui.
*They question you concerning the Hour, when will it set in? Say, ‘Its knowledge is only with my Lord: none except Him shall manifest it at its time. It will weigh heavy on the heavens and the earth. It will not overtake you but suddenly.’ They ask you as if you were in the know of it. Say, ‘Its knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.’
7:188
قُلْ لَا أَمْلِكُ لِنَفْسِي نَفْعًا وَلَا ضَرًّا إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۚ وَلَوْ كُنْتُ أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ لَاسْتَكْثَرْتُ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ وَمَا مَسَّنِيَ السُّوءُ ۚ إِنْ أَنَا إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ وَبَشِيرٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Sema: Siimilikii nafsi yangu manufaa wala madhara, ila apendavyo Mwenyezi Mungu. Na lau kuwa ninayajua ya ghaibu ninge jizidishia mema mengi, wala ovu lisinge nigusa. Mimi si chochote ila ni mwonyaji na mbashiri kwa watu wanao amini.
*Say, ‘I have no control over any benefit for myself, nor [over] any harm except what Allah may wish. Had I known the Unseen, I would have acquired much good, and no ill would have befallen me. I am only a warner and bearer of good news to a people who have faith.’
7:189
هُوَ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُمْ مِنْ نَفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَجَعَلَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا لِيَسْكُنَ إِلَيْهَا ۖ فَلَمَّا تَغَشَّاهَا حَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ ۖ فَلَمَّا أَثْقَلَتْ دَعَوَا اللَّهَ رَبَّهُمَا لَئِنْ آتَيْتَنَا صَالِحًا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
*Yeye ndiye aliye kuumbeni katika nafsi moja; na katika hiyo hiyo akamfanya mwenzi wake, ili akae naye kwa utulivu. Na anapo muingilia hubeba mzigo mwepesi, akitembea nao. Anapo kuwa mja mzito, wote wawili humwomba Mwenyezi Mungu, Mola Mlezi wao: Kama ukitupa mwana mwema tutakuwa katika wanao shukuru.
*It is He who created you from a single soul, and made from it its mate, that he might find comfort with her. So when he had covered her, she bore a light burden and passed [some time] with it. When she had grown heavy, they both invoked Allah, their Lord: ‘If You give us a healthy [child], we will be surely grateful.’
7:190
فَلَمَّا آتَاهُمَا صَالِحًا جَعَلَا لَهُ شُرَكَاءَ فِيمَا آتَاهُمَا ۚ فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
*Basi anapo wapa mwana mwema, wanamfanyia washirikina Mwenyezi Mungu katika kile kile alicho wapa. Mwenyezi Mungu ametukuka na huko kushirikisha kwao.
*Then when He gave them a healthy [child], they ascribed partners to Him in what He had given them. Exalted is Allah above [having] any partners that they ascribe [to Him]!
7:191
أَيُشْرِكُونَ مَا لَا يَخْلُقُ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ
*Ati wanawafanya viumbe kuwa ni washirika wa Mwenyezi Mungu, nao hawaumbi, bali wao ndio wanaumbwa?
*Do they ascribe [to Him] partners that create nothing and have been created themselves,
7:192
وَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ لَهُمْ نَصْرًا وَلَا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُونَ
*Wala hawana uwezo wa kuwanusuru wala wenyewe hawajinusuru.
*and can neither help them, nor help themselves?
7:193
وَإِنْ تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْهُدَىٰ لَا يَتَّبِعُوكُمْ ۚ سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ أَدَعَوْتُمُوهُمْ أَمْ أَنْتُمْ صَامِتُونَ
*Na mkiwaita kwenye uwongofu, hawakufuateni. Ni mamoja kwenu ikiwa mtawaita au mkinyamaza.
*If you call them to guidance, they will not follow you: it is the same to you whether you call them or whether you are silent.
7:194
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ عِبَادٌ أَمْثَالُكُمْ ۖ فَادْعُوهُمْ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا لَكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
*Hakika hao mnao waomba asiye kuwa Mwenyezi Mungu ni waja mfano wenu nyinyi. Hebu waombeni, nao wakuitikieni, kama mnasema kweli.
*Indeed those whom you invoke besides Allah are creatures like you. So invoke them: they should answer you, if you are truthful.
7:195
أَلَهُمْ أَرْجُلٌ يَمْشُونَ بِهَا ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَيْدٍ يَبْطِشُونَ بِهَا ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا ۖ أَمْ لَهُمْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۗ قُلِ ادْعُوا شُرَكَاءَكُمْ ثُمَّ كِيدُونِ فَلَا تُنْظِرُونِ
*Je, wao wanayo miguu ya kwendea? Au wanayo mikono ya kutetea? Au wanayo macho ya kuonea? Au wanayo masikio ya kusikizia? Sema: Iiteni hio miungu yenu ya ushirikina. Kisha nifanyieni mimi vitimbi, wala msinipe muhula.
*Do they have any feet to walk with? Do they have any hands to grasp with? Do they have any eyes to see with? Do they have any ears to hear with? Say, ‘Invoke your partners [that you ascribe to Allah] and try out your stratagems against me without granting me any respite.
7:196
إِنَّ وَلِيِّيَ اللَّهُ الَّذِي نَزَّلَ الْكِتَابَ ۖ وَهُوَ يَتَوَلَّى الصَّالِحِينَ
*Hakika Mlinzi wangu ni Mwenyezi Mungu aliye teremsha Kitabu. Naye ndiye awalindae walio wema.
*My guardian is indeed Allah who sent down the Book, and He takes care of the righteous.
7:197
وَالَّذِينَ تَدْعُونَ مِنْ دُونِهِ لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَكُمْ وَلَا أَنْفُسَهُمْ يَنْصُرُونَ
*Na hao mnao waomba asiye kuwa Mwenyezi hawawezi kukunusuruni, wala hawajinusuru wenyewe.
*Those whom you invoke besides Him can neither help you, nor help themselves.
7:198
وَإِنْ تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَى الْهُدَىٰ لَا يَسْمَعُوا ۖ وَتَرَاهُمْ يَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْكَ وَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ
*Na mkiwaita kwenye uwongofu hawasikii. Na unawaona wanakutazama, nao hawaoni.
*If you call them to guidance, they will not hear. You see them facing you, but they do not see.’
7:199
خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِينَ
*Shikamana na kusamehe, na amrisha mema, na jitenge na majaahili.
*Adopt [a policy of] excusing [the faults of people], bid what is right, and turn away from the ignorant.
7:200
وَإِمَّا يَنْزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ
*Na uchochezi wa Shet´ani ukikuchochea basi omba ulinzi wa Mwenyezi Mungu. Hakika Yeye ni Msikizi, Mjuzi.
*Should a temptation from Satan disturb you, invoke the protection of Allah; indeed He is all-hearing, all-knowing.
7:201
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا إِذَا مَسَّهُمْ طَائِفٌ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ تَذَكَّرُوا فَإِذَا هُمْ مُبْصِرُونَ
*Hakika wale wamchao Mungu, zinapo wagusa pepesi za Shet´ani, mara huzindukana na hapo huwa wenye kuiona haki.
*When those who are Godwary are touched by a visitation of Satan, they remember [Allah] and, behold, they perceive.
7:202
وَإِخْوَانُهُمْ يَمُدُّونَهُمْ فِي الْغَيِّ ثُمَّ لَا يُقْصِرُونَ
*Na ndugu zao wanawavutia kwenye upotofu, kisha wao hawaachi.
*But their brethren, they draw them into error, and then they do not spare [any harm].
7:203
وَإِذَا لَمْ تَأْتِهِمْ بِآيَةٍ قَالُوا لَوْلَا اجْتَبَيْتَهَا ۚ قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَتَّبِعُ مَا يُوحَىٰ إِلَيَّ مِنْ رَبِّي ۚ هَٰذَا بَصَائِرُ مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ
*Na usipo waletea Ishara waitakayo husema: Kwa nini hukuibuni? Sema: mimi ninafuata yanayo funuliwa kwangu kutokana na Mola Mlezi wangu. Hii (Qur´ani) ni hoja zinazo toka kwa Mola wenu Mlezi, na uwongofu na rehema kwa watu wanao amini.
*When you do not bring them a sign, they say, ‘Why do you not improvise one?’ Say, ‘I only follow what is revealed to me from my Lord; these are insights from your Lord, and a guidance and mercy for a people who have faith.’
7:204
وَإِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنْصِتُوا لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
*Na isomwapo Qur´ani isikilizeni na mnyamaze ili mpate kurehemewa.
*When the Quran is recited, listen to it and be silent, maybe you will receive [Allah’s] mercy.
7:205
وَاذْكُرْ رَبَّكَ فِي نَفْسِكَ تَضَرُّعًا وَخِيفَةً وَدُونَ الْجَهْرِ مِنَ الْقَوْلِ بِالْغُدُوِّ وَالْآصَالِ وَلَا تَكُنْ مِنَ الْغَافِلِينَ
*Na mkumbuke Mola Mlezi wako nafsini kwako kwa unyenyekevu na khofu, na bila ya kupiga kelele kwa kauli, asubuhi na jioni. Wala usiwe miongoni wa walio ghafilika.
*And remember your Lord within your heart beseechingly and reverentially, without being loud, morning, and evening, and do not be among the heedless.
7:206
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ عِنْدَ رَبِّكَ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَيُسَبِّحُونَهُ وَلَهُ يَسْجُدُونَ ۩
*Hakika wale walioko kwa Mola wako Mlezi hawajivuni wakaacha kumuabdu, na wanamtakasa na wanamsujudia.
*Indeed those who are [stationed] near your Lord do not disdain to worship Him. They glorify Him and prostrate to Him.
