Sura 68 - Al-Qalam

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
68:1
ن ۚ وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ
*Nuun. Naapa kwa kalamu na yale wayaandikayo,
*Nun. By the Pen and what they write:
68:2
مَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ
*Kwa neema ya Mola wako Mlezi wewe si mwendawazimu.
*by your Lord’s blessing, you are not, crazy,
68:3
وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ
*Na kwa hakika wewe una malipo yasiyo katika.
*and yours indeed will be an everlasting reward,
68:4
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
*Na hakika wewe una tabia tukufu.
*and indeed you possess a great character.
68:5
فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ
*Karibu utaona, na wao wataona,
*You will see and they will see,
68:6
بِأَيْيِكُمُ الْمَفْتُونُ
*Ni nani kati yenu aliye pandwa na wazimu.
*which one of you is crazy.
68:7
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ
*Hakika Mola wako Mlezi ndiye Yeye ajuaye zaidi nani aliye ipotea Njia yake, na Yeye ndiye anaye wajua zaidi walio ongoka.
*Indeed your Lord knows best those who stray from His way, and He knows best those who are guided.
68:8
فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ
*Basi usiwat´ii wanao kadhibisha.
*So do not obey the deniers,
68:9
وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ
*Wanatamani lau unge lainisha ili nao wakulainishie.
*who are eager that you should be flexible, so that they [too] may be flexible [towards you].
68:10
وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَهِينٍ
*Wala usimt´ii kila mwingi wa kuapa wa kudharauliwa,
*And do not obey any vile swearer,
68:11
هَمَّازٍ مَشَّاءٍ بِنَمِيمٍ
*Mtapitapi, apitaye akifitini,
*scandal-monger, talebearer,
68:12
مَنَّاعٍ لِلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ
*Mwenye kuzuia kheri, dhaalimu, mwingi wa madhambi,
*hinderer of all good, sinful transgressor,
68:13
عُتُلٍّ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ زَنِيمٍ
*Mkavu, na juu ya hayo, mshari, amejipachika tu.
*callous and, on top of that, baseborn
68:14
أَنْ كَانَ ذَا مَالٍ وَبَنِينَ
*Ati kwa kuwa ana mali na watoto!
*—[who behaves in such a manner only] because he has wealth and children.
68:15
إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
*Anapo somewa Aya zetu, husema: Hizi ni simulizi za uwongo za watu wa zamani!
*When Our signs are recited to him, he says, ‘Myths of the ancients!’
68:16
سَنَسِمُهُ عَلَى الْخُرْطُومِ
*Tutamtia kovu juu ya pua yake.
*Soon We shall brand him on his snout.
68:17
إِنَّا بَلَوْنَاهُمْ كَمَا بَلَوْنَا أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ إِذْ أَقْسَمُوا لَيَصْرِمُنَّهَا مُصْبِحِينَ
*Hakika tumewajaribu hawa kama tulivyo wajaribu wale wenye shamba, walipo apa kwamba watayavuna mazao yake itakapo kuwa asubuhi.
*Indeed we have tested them just as We tested the People of the Garden when they vowed they would gather its fruit at dawn,
68:18
وَلَا يَسْتَثْنُونَ
*Wala hawakusema: Mungu akipenda!
*and they did not make any exception.
68:19
فَطَافَ عَلَيْهَا طَائِفٌ مِنْ رَبِّكَ وَهُمْ نَائِمُونَ
*Basi lilitokea tukio juu yake kutoka kwa Mola wako Mlezi, nao wamelala!
*Then, a visitation from your Lord visited it while they were asleep.
68:20
فَأَصْبَحَتْ كَالصَّرِيمِ
*Likawa kama usiku wa giza.
*So, by dawn it was like a harvested field.
68:21
فَتَنَادَوْا مُصْبِحِينَ
*Asubuhi wakaitana.
*At dawn they called out to one another,
68:22
أَنِ اغْدُوا عَلَىٰ حَرْثِكُمْ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَارِمِينَ
*Ya kwamba nendeni kondeni mwenu ikiwa mnataka kuvuna.
*‘Get off early to your field if you have to gather [the fruits].’
68:23
فَانْطَلَقُوا وَهُمْ يَتَخَافَتُونَ
*Basi walikwenda na huku wakinong´onezana,
*So off they went, murmuring to one another:
68:24
أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِسْكِينٌ
*Ya kuwa leo hata masikini mmoja asikuingilieni.
*‘Today no needy man shall come to you in it.’
68:25
وَغَدَوْا عَلَىٰ حَرْدٍ قَادِرِينَ
*Na walikwenda asubuhi, nao wameshikilia azimio hilo.
*And they set out at early morning, [considering themselves] able to deprive [the poor of its fruit].
68:26
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهَا قَالُوا إِنَّا لَضَالُّونَ
*Basi walipo liona, wakasema: Hakika tumepotea!
*But when they saw it, they said, ‘We have indeed lost our way!’
68:27
بَلْ نَحْنُ مَحْرُومُونَ
*Bali tumenyimwa!
*‘No, it is we who have been deprived!’
68:28
قَالَ أَوْسَطُهُمْ أَلَمْ أَقُلْ لَكُمْ لَوْلَا تُسَبِّحُونَ
*Mbora wao akasema: Sikukwambieni, kwa nini hamumtakasi Mwenyezi Mungu?
*The most upright among them said, ‘Did I not tell you, ‘‘Why do you not glorify [Allah]?’’ ’
68:29
قَالُوا سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ
*Wakasema: Ametakasika Mola wetu Mlezi! Hakika sisi tulikuwa wenye kudhulumu.
*They said, ‘Immaculate is our Lord! We have indeed been wrongdoers!’
68:30
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ يَتَلَاوَمُونَ
*Basi wakakabiliana kulaumiana wao kwa wao.
*Then they turned to one another, blaming each other.
68:31
قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا طَاغِينَ
*Wakasema: Ole wetu! Tulikuwa tumeikiuka mipaka!
*They said, ‘Woe to us! Indeed, we have been rebellious.
68:32
عَسَىٰ رَبُّنَا أَنْ يُبْدِلَنَا خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا رَاغِبُونَ
*Asaa Mola wetu Mlezi akatubadilishia lilio bora kuliko hili. Hakika sisi ni wenye kurejea kwa Mola wetu Mlezi.
*Maybe our Lord will give us a better one in its place. Indeed we earnestly beseech our Lord.’
68:33
كَذَٰلِكَ الْعَذَابُ ۖ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَكْبَرُ ۚ لَوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Namna hivi yanakuwa mateso, na bila ya shaka mateso ya Akhera ni makubwa zaidi, laiti wangeli jua!
*Such was their punishment; and the punishment of the Hereafter is surely greater, had they known.
68:34
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتِ النَّعِيمِ
*Hakika wachamngu watakuwa na Bustani za neema kwa Mola wao Mlezi.
*Indeed for the Godwary there will be gardens of bliss near their Lord.
68:35
أَفَنَجْعَلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ كَالْمُجْرِمِينَ
*Kwani tutawafanya Waislamu kama wakosefu?
*Shall We treat those who submit [to Us] as [We treat] the guilty?
68:36
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ
*Mna nini? Mnahukumu vipi?
*What is the matter with you? How do you judge!
68:37
أَمْ لَكُمْ كِتَابٌ فِيهِ تَدْرُسُونَ
*Au mnacho kitabu ambacho ndani yake mnasoma?
*Do you possess a scripture in which you read
68:38
إِنَّ لَكُمْ فِيهِ لَمَا تَخَيَّرُونَ
*Kuwa mtapata humo mnayo yapenda?
*that you shall have in it whatever you choose?
68:39
أَمْ لَكُمْ أَيْمَانٌ عَلَيْنَا بَالِغَةٌ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ ۙ إِنَّ لَكُمْ لَمَا تَحْكُمُونَ
*Au mnazo ahadi za viapo juu yetu za kufika Siku ya Kiyama ya kuwa hakika mtapata kila mnayo jihukumia?
*Do you have a pledge binding on Us until the Day of Resurrection, that you shall indeed have whatever you decide?
68:40
سَلْهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ بِذَٰلِكَ زَعِيمٌ
*Waulize: Ni nani miongoni mwao dhamini wa haya?
*Ask them, which of them will aver [any of] that!
68:41
أَمْ لَهُمْ شُرَكَاءُ فَلْيَأْتُوا بِشُرَكَائِهِمْ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ
*Au wanao washirika? Basi wawalete washirika wao wakiwa wanasema kweli.
*Do they have any ‘partners’ [that they claim for Allah]? Then let them produce their partners, if they are truthful.
68:42
يَوْمَ يُكْشَفُ عَنْ سَاقٍ وَيُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
*Siku utakapo wekwa wazi mundi, na wataitwa kusujudu, lakini hawataweza,
*The day when the catastrophe occurs and they are summoned to prostrate themselves, they will not be able [to do it].
68:43
خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ۖ وَقَدْ كَانُوا يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى السُّجُودِ وَهُمْ سَالِمُونَ
*Macho yao yatainama chini, fedheha itawafunika. Na hakika walikuwa wakiitwa wasujudu walipo kuwa wazima -
*With a humbled look [in their eyes], they will be overcast by abasement. Certainly, they were summoned to prostrate themselves while they were yet sound.
68:44
فَذَرْنِي وَمَنْ يُكَذِّبُ بِهَٰذَا الْحَدِيثِ ۖ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
*Basi niache na wanao kadhibisha maneno haya! Tutawavutia kidogo kidogo kwa mahali wasipo pajua.
*So leave Me with those who deny this discourse. We will draw them imperceptibly [into ruin], whence they do not know.
68:45
وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ
*Na ninawapururia muhula; hakika hila zangu ni imara.
*I will grant them respite, for My devising is indeed sure.
68:46
أَمْ تَسْأَلُهُمْ أَجْرًا فَهُمْ مِنْ مَغْرَمٍ مُثْقَلُونَ
*Au unawaomba ujira, na wao wanaemewa na gharama hiyo?
*Do you ask them for a reward, so that they are weighed down with debt?
68:47
أَمْ عِنْدَهُمُ الْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
*Au iko kwao siri, basi wao wanaiandika?
*Do they possess [access to] the Unseen, so that they write it down?
68:48
فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تَكُنْ كَصَاحِبِ الْحُوتِ إِذْ نَادَىٰ وَهُوَ مَكْظُومٌ
*Basi ingojee hukumu ya Mola wako Mlezi, wala usiwe kama mmezwa na samaki, alipo nadi naye kazongwa.
*So submit patiently to the judgement of your Lord, and do not be like the Man of the Fish who called out as he choked with grief.
68:49
لَوْلَا أَنْ تَدَارَكَهُ نِعْمَةٌ مِنْ رَبِّهِ لَنُبِذَ بِالْعَرَاءِ وَهُوَ مَذْمُومٌ
*Kama isingeli mfikia neema kutoka kwa Mola wake Mlezi, bila ya shaka angeli tupwa ufukweni naye ni mwenye kulaumiwa.
*Had it not been for a blessing that came to his rescue from his Lord, he would surely have been cast on the bare shore, being blameworthy.
68:50
فَاجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَجَعَلَهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
*Lakini Mola wake Mlezi alimteua na akamfanya miongoni mwa watu wema.
*So his Lord chose him and made him one of the righteous.
68:51
وَإِنْ يَكَادُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَارِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا الذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُ لَمَجْنُونٌ
*Na walio kufuru hukaribia kukutelezesha kwa macho yao, wanapo sikia mawaidha, na wanasema: Hakika yeye ni mwendawazimu.
*Indeed the faithless almost devour you with their eyes when they hear this Reminder, and they say, ‘He is indeed crazy.’
68:52
وَمَا هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ لِلْعَالَمِينَ
*Na hayakuwa haya, ila ni ukumbusho kwa walimwengu wote.
*Yet it is just a reminder for all the nations.
