Sura 78 - An-Naba

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Kwa Jina La Mwenyezi Mungu, Mwingi Wa Rehema, Mwenye Kurehemu.
78:1
عَمَّ يَتَسَاءَلُونَ
*WANAULIZANA nini?
*What is it that they are questioning each other about?!
78:2
عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ
*Ile khabari kuu,
*[Is it] about the Great Tiding,
78:3
الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ
*Ambayo kwayo wanakhitalifiana.
*the one about which they differ?
78:4
كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
*La! Karibu watakuja jua.
*No indeed! Soon they will know!
78:5
ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ
*Tena la! Karibu watakuja jua.
*No indeed! Soon they will know for once again!
78:6
أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا
*Kwani hatukuifanya ardhi kama tandiko?
*Did We not make the earth a resting place?
78:7
وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا
*Na milima kama vigingi?
*and the mountains stakes?
78:8
وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا
*Na tukakuumbeni kwa jozi?
*and create you in pairs?
78:9
وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا
*Na tukakufanya kulala kwenu ni mapumziko?
*and make your sleep for rest?
78:10
وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا
*Na tukaufanya usiku ni nguo?
*and make the night a covering?
78:11
وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا
*Na tukaufanya mchana ni wa kuchumia maisha?
*and make the day for livelihood?
78:12
وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا
*Na tukajenga juu yenu saba zenye nguvu?
*and build above you the seven mighty heavens?
78:13
وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا
*Na tukaifanya taa yenye mwanga na joto;
*and make [the sun for] a radiant lamp?
78:14
وَأَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا
*Na tukateremsha maji yanayo anguka kwa kasi kutoka mawinguni,
*and send down water pouring from the rain-clouds,
78:15
لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا
*Ili tutoe kwayo nafaka na mimea,
*that We may bring forth with it grains and plants,
78:16
وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا
*Na mabustani yenye miti iliyo kamatana.
*and luxuriant gardens?
78:17
إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا
*Hakika siku ya uamuzi imewekewa wakati wake,
*Indeed the Day of Judgement is the tryst,
78:18
يَوْمَ يُنْفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا
*Siku litapo pulizwa barugumu, nanyi mtakuja kwa makundi,
*the day the Trumpet will be blown, and you will come in groups,
78:19
وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا
*Na mbingu zitafunguliwa, ziwe milango,
*and the sky will be opened and become gates,
78:20
وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا
*Na milima itaondolewa na itakuwa kama sarabi.
*and the mountains will be set moving and become a mirage.
78:21
إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا
*Hakika Jahannamu inangojea!
*Indeed hell is in ambush,
78:22
لِلطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا
*Kwa walio asi ndio makaazi yao,
*a resort for the rebels,
78:23
لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا
*Wakae humo karne baada ya karne,
*to reside therein for ages,
78:24
لَا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
*Hawataonja humo chochote kibaridi wala kinywaji,
*tasting in it neither any coolness nor drink,
78:25
إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا
*Ila maji yamoto sana na usaha,
*except boiling water and pus,
78:26
جَزَاءً وِفَاقًا
*Ndio jaza muwafaka.
*a fitting requital.
78:27
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا
*Hakika hao hawakuwa wakitaraji kuwa kuna hisabu.
*Indeed they did not expect any reckoning,
78:28
وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا
*Na wakikanusha Aya zetu kwa nguvu.
*and they denied Our signs mendaciously,
78:29
وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا
*Na kila kitu Sisi tumekidhibiti kwa kukiandika.
*and We have figured everything in a Book.
78:30
فَذُوقُوا فَلَنْ نَزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا
*Basi onjeni! Nasi hatutakuzidishieni ila adhabu!
*So [now] taste! We shall increase you in nothing but punishment!
78:31
إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا
*Hakika wachamngu wanastahiki kufuzu,
*Indeed a triumph awaits the Godwary:
78:32
حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا
*Mabustani na mizabibu,
*gardens and vineyards,
78:33
وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا
*Na wake walio lingana nao,
*and buxom maidens of a like age,
78:34
وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا
*Na bilauri zilizo jaa,
*and brimming cups.
78:35
لَا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا
*Hawatasikia humo upuuzi wala uwongo -
*Therein they shall hear neither vain talk nor lies
78:36
جَزَاءً مِنْ رَبِّكَ عَطَاءً حِسَابًا
*Malipo kutoka kwa Mola wako Mlezi, kipawa cha kutosha.
*—a reward and a sufficing bounty from your Lord,
78:37
رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرَّحْمَٰنِ ۖ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا
*Mola Mlezi wa mbingu na ardhi na vilio baina yao, Arrahman, Mwingi wa rehema; hawamiliki usemi mbele yake!
*the All-beneficent, the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. They will not be able to address Him
78:38
يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا ۖ لَا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا
*Siku atakapo simama Roho na Malaika kwa safu. Hawatasema ila Mwingi wa rehema aliye mruhusu, na atasema yaliyo sawa tu.
*on the day when the Spirit and the angels stand in an array: none shall speak except someone who is permitted by the All-beneficent and says what is rightful.
78:39
ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ ۖ فَمَنْ شَاءَ اتَّخَذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِ مَآبًا
*Hiyo ndiyo Siku ya haki. Basi anaye taka na ashike njia arejee kwa Mola wake Mlezi.
*That day is true for certain. So let anyone who wishes take resort with his Lord.
78:40
إِنَّا أَنْذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنْظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ تُرَابًا
*Hakika tumekuhadharisheni adhabu iliyo karibu kufika; Siku ambayo mtu atakapo ona yaliyo tangulizwa na mikono yake; na kafiri atasema: Laiti ningeli kuwa udongo!
*Indeed We have warned you of a punishment near at hand—the day when a person will observe what his hands have sent ahead and the faithless one will say, ‘I wish I were dust!’
